Dealing with heavy skis/bindings.

So, I mounted Salomon STH 12's onto my LINE 166 Chronics, and they are heavy as f*ck. It pisses me off because I can't 5, switch-up, 2sev, nothing. Yeash, i'm a f*ck up for buying all metal bindings.. I'm 110-115 and 5'8, and my ski's weigh about 6.5 - 7 lbs each. It's kinda too late to buy new bindings because i'm broke and don't intend on earning any cash soon. Is there any way to deal with heavy bindings/skis? Pissing me off because i'm worried that i'm gonna be shit this season because of my heavyass skis..

a legit answer would be stop making excuses for you sucking. seriously. all last season i was forced into demo pivot bindings. you think you STH's are heavy? trying skiing a day in my boots. didnt slow me down in the least, just get used to it.

this is a dumb thread. most pros have to use all metal bindings and it does not slow them down, get some leg strength and stop complaining, also troll

Last season i had to use all rossignol axium gear from like 2003. my friends mom had the same skis as me, and the bindings i used broke half-way through the season. don't worry about it, just push harder

You are correct.
The STH 12 isn't that heavy, is it even the STH 12 Driver(they do make those)?. It's not a long ski either. Build up your leg muscles. It's going to be something that you'll have to get used to bud. Sorry to say it. Don't be so quick to blame your gear.

Your legs will get stronger eventually, blaming your gear is a bad excuse for not being able to do tricks.

Step-ups with weights in each hand, squats & lunges, repeated jumps onto high platforms...other gym stuff like that. Besides, it's the swing weight that gets ya, not really boots or bindings so much.

Bindings put weight right on your feet which doesnt effect you at all... and don't blame it on skis being heavy because its all about swing weight. As everyone else said, stop blaming you sucking on your equipment.

6? The skis are just really thick. Sidewall is almost an inch underfoot.

fuckin pussy I ride the 169 ( more like 173) 11' silencers with look PX12 jibs ti's ( heaviest shit every)...i'm 5 7' and 130 lbs. and guess what i throw harder than i ever had!

thats a pretty average setup...
those skis are a good size, im the same height and ride 176s and 185s with fks 14s, so...

yeah well it was a big difference for me...but now i've found that long skis are so much better... i shoulda just bought a 176 and never would have needed anything bigger!...but ya you got me bro i wish i ahd some FKS..jibs kinda suck

i went from one pair of non-freestyle specific boots to the il moro's


switch up the bindings to the jesters - which are the lightest out i think.

these 2 things are the few options you do have

Its easy. Start going to the gym and building leg muscle strength. No need to make excuses for stuff like this when you're legs are most likely like toothpicks.

What you should do is ski around with weights on your ankles for a couple weeks. Not kidding. Then hit huge booters while curling 25 in each hand. If you havent changed after that, try taking buffplex 4000. Its this new swedish extreme muscle builder that tears your muscles 2x harder than working out. all you have to do is beat off more than 6x a day. Hope that helped :)
