Contour mount help

Just got my new contourHD and I was wondering if anyone else who has one can help me with the included mount? it says that the two pieces are supposed to separate to allow for rotation, but when I tried this it failed?

you have to remove the disc inside the goggle mount. Attach the camera and use that to apply leverage to pull it out
