pretty lame that sammy beat candide by such a huge difrence...

sammy did have a banger segment in the both movies he was in and he DID do the first (and really sick) switch triple.

but candide, i mean candide... did you see candide kamera 2?

What an incredible joke that poll is.  Powder's is much better, a much better representation of who can really ski.

I thought Candide had a chance to win, which would have given the poll some legitimacy.  Sammy is much better than Wallisch, but he probably won't win.  Wallisch should not have even gotten out of the first round.

the problem is that wallisch is a bigger "name". candide was crazy this year and pushed freesking so far with his big mountain comp wins but more people have heard of twall so he gets votes.

im not surprised how this worked out at all. think about who voted really, what types of skiers and their ages. i am sort of surprised of the margin that sammy had over candide, but then again, sammy put together some sick segments and had the first switch triple, but candide did not put too many shots in movies this year that the majority of the voters had seen. candide kamera was super sick, but that was last season (right?). jossi's talent still goes unnoticed by a lot of people i think though

why do you dislike wallisch so much to say that he shouldnt have even passed the first round?
just because kids got hyped on him then someone said GARGLE GARGLE doesnt mean he isnt a sick skier
i mean do you really think that wallisch is the worst skier on that list?

I respect them and whatnot, but Tom and Sammy should never have made it out of the first round. In fact, the first round is ALL backwards except for Sage and Pettit.

To be honest this contest was "rigged" in favor of park skiers because of the fact that Freeskier's demographic is so much more Newschoolers than it is TGR

how did Simon beat Bobby Brown? like what? Bobby Brown Landed 2 triples won Slopestyle Gold and Big Air Gold, and put out a nasty seg in The Way I See It. On the other hand Simon did not perform well in the X Games and did however create a sick vid for JOSS along with Tom and Schlopy, and his segment in Revolver was pretty good but nothing compared to Bobby's

i completly agree that bobby dominated the events this year and really nobody even came close to him in that.

all though, about movie segments i gotta say i never really liked simon but DAMN this year he did his best movie seggy ever that ending segment was insane, with really sweet features and perfect dubs in the bc and cork3 both ways.

simon had a mediocre start of the season and then killed it late in the season, he is such a beast NO HOMO.

i cant beleive Phil was out in first round, his segment wiht henrik in eyetrip is my favorite thing ever and gets me so stoked to ski.

tom had a better win then sammy for sure

X-games euro gold, dew tour win  segment in level 1 , 4bi9 and  field prod.

Did well in everything he entered except x-games in the us.

He got so much coverage form everyone it was toatlly insane.

On the other hand sammy should not have podiummed at x-games (no hte really, he just didnt grab on his right cab 10) He killed the filming aspect and did ok in most comp he entered. Sure he did the first steezy triple flip but I cant see why he could match Tom in the finals

That being said,  bobby , andreas and jossi had better comp season then any of these guys and jossi 's coverage with WOW was amazing.

The only thing I understand is that kids voted for who they like the most no matter how good of a season they had.

I'm not saying it's a stupid format, just saying people should be more objective when they vote about skier of the year, not their favorite skier.

At least we have two of the most fun-oriented and always-positive guys out there in the finals.

^sammy may have missed a grab, but he also cork 450ed onto and off that rainbow at X. I'm still wondering why didn't that make the PBP seggy. he deserved his medal and my vote - but not just for that. sammy rolls out pure game in every freeskiing discipline now.

Couldnt agree more. I met sammy at ski camp a year or two ago, and he was super nice. Havent met wallisch but whatever. It's only an internet poll, not the end of the world.

Sammmy FTW..... he's the hardest working skier in the bizzzzz, no one else than him can compete in every competition and still manage to have 2 of the best segments with two different film companies.

WTF...!!!

I can understand that some people vote Seth over Sammy but still, 71-29! That's ridiculous.

Not to mention Sammy's win over Candide with a 70-30, which is absolutely outrageous...Candide's the man...period.

not really. good thing youve seen both the movies. He had 1 full seg of him in Light The Wick and Revolver, plus the end of Light The Wick the 3d park segment and more shots in Revolver

freeskier sucks, their content sucks, you'd think they would of tried to fill the void after the death of freeze   but instead looks like they went along the lines of: Oh we're the only freeskiing magazine, so no matter how shitty the magazine is people will have to buy it

I don't think candide would want to even be involved in the poll. that's not really his style. and sammy did have an epic season, and is all around an incredibly sick skier.

but why even try to compare candide to normal people? and the fact that he didn't win his round is pretty telling of how ignorant the general skiing populace is.

sammy would have voted for candide.
