Question about remounting.

So i have a old pair of skis that i have bindings on. And i have another pair of skis which used to be mounted with those same exact bindings so i know the holes and everything are correct. what i want to do is to get newer bindings for my newer skis and remount the old skis with the old bindings again.

so i have a few questions.

the boot size is the same for both mountings that were done. so if i just screwed them into the new skis would i need to adjust them? and if so how?

and 2 if i screw them into the old skis would i need to apply any sort of glue to make them stable if so what kind?

keep in mind i am not super concerned about being strict about it being perfect. i just want a pair of shitty skis that i can use for summer sessions and preseason hiking and stuff.

You can screw the bindings into the old skis but be aware if they tighten or are stripped. If the holes are stripped you are best off getting helicoils. As for the new bindings/ski setup, if they are the same model bindings then its the same as above, but if you are switching them up its best to have a tech do it so they can plug, redrill, heli, etc if needed.

Pop some drops of waterproof wood glue in there

if the holes are not stripped then put some waterproof wood glue in the holes and screw the bindings in making sure not to over tighten

if one or 2 holes are mildly stripped then put bits of steel wool and some epoxy in the stripped holes and screw in the bindings

if more than 2 holes are stripped per ski then take them to a shop and get helicoils
