Mounting a Junior Binding on a pow ski?

I have a pair of 2008 dynastar junior bindings that I was thinking of putting on some powder skis i might get this year. I don't remember the model name, but they are 12 din with the "boner binding" heelpiece. I didn't really beat them up--i used them for a season, then water ramped on them for like 3 days.

I'm trying to save some money by using these, but if it would be an issue i guess i could buy some bindings as well.

Would these bindings hold up on a fat ski?

are you sure those are junior bindings? they sound like p12s to me.

still a high din for a jr binding .. why do you think they are a junior binding?

^ i remember they were marketed as one on dynastar's site, similar to the PX team binding (also a junior) http://store.dynastar.com/products/378396 . I'm not too worried about the din--ive never skied higher than a 6 or 7 except on water ramps.

I'm just wondering if they will rip out of a bigger ski, or if their being on a larger ski would affect performance. I guess it just comes down to if there is a significant difference in durability/performance between this binding, and say, Griffons or px12's.

they have the px12 heel and the nx10 toe? weird... but yeah... a din of 10 i think you'd be fine... it isn't like they mount any different (im assuming the screws are the same length) so I'd say do it...

as posted above I have never seen a "jr" binding with a din of 10... usually 4.5 (for smaller kids) or 7 (for teens). Jr binders with a 10 din would be insane... kids are rarely ever above 5 on their setting and usually the highest jr. din is 7...

ok so dins shouldnt be a problem then. if its a shorter screw length, the shop would probably have longer ones, but i dont think there would really be a difference.

How much do you weigh? The housing for the heelpiece track isn't the best on those heelpieces. But even if you do break it, I'm preeeetty sure those bindings have the same hole pattern as the higher din/stronger bindings offered by dynastar/rossi/look.

A "ripout" is caused by either the ski, or the screws used to mount the bindings.

So no, they won't rip out, and if they do, most likley it would also have happened with another binding to.
If you don't mount it on a ski wider than 110-115 with the proper screws, you'll be fine!

i think I weigh between 110-120 lbs.

but you think that if I mount them on a ski wider than 115, they will have a better chance of ripping out? right now im looking into some hellbents or obsetheds.
