Im importing HDV footage off an HV30 using imovie, and it automatically imports as Apple Intermediate Codec. Aka massive file sizes. I know i should have FCP or FCE, but i dont, and its not really an option right now. So anyone have a tip on how to convert this to something more manageable in terms of file size? That can still be edited in Imovie
I'm not sure if MPG streamclip works for Mac's, but if it does, use that.
Import the files to your computer and open streamclip. When streamclip is opened, go to File>open file>select the files you want all at once>open>File>Make MP4.
MP4 is an example obviously, you can do any format you want, and there are a ton of other settings you can change. It's super easy to use, I'm sure you'll figure it out if that didn't make sense.
