Feelin' good about '10-'11 season!

Who else is feeling good about this season? Im feelin great cuz im spending my winter at a new mountain (big boulder) where i feel i will progress faster than at my home mountain (shawnee :/) and i hope to meet some people at my skill level to chill with. Im also spending 10 days at mount snow over winter break! Anyone else got their season planned out?

this season i'm doing the alpine race team at my school, which basically means that i get to miss full days of school to ski for free at various areas. i've never raced before, but who cares. i hear most of the time we get to freeride around the mountain.

so pumped!

the last few weeks i've been mad stoked to get on the hill, but the last few days have hit me real hard reading all the "first snow" threads. Usually i go downstairs just to stare at my skis at least once a day. Yeah i can't fucking wait.

feeling great about this coming season since last year was my real first year of freestyle skiing and trying to improve at it so i feel that this year will be much easier to learn new stuff

Ya racing is fun as shit anyways. I do the team at my school and it is really awesome.

Season is shaping up to be a nicey. I will probably be skiing less due to employment at a shop but that is alright.

Yea they didnt have a race team at my highschool and the college race team is like $1000 for the year and all they do is go up to tremblant for a week and stuff. Yea i feel like my main goal is to have tons of fun and my secondary goal is to progress. I think about skiing every day of the year at least once but when i start hearing about first snow and stuff i am in 24/7 ski mode. I cant help it. Hopefully i get my 360's down and learn all 270's then go from there

Feelin so good about this season. Tweaked my schedule around at school so i have one day at school and what day out of school which will be spent at grouse or whistler. Seeing as whistler is damn near snow covered at the roundhouse must not be too far away from announcing an earlier opening, grant it the snow cant stay around as freezing levels are said to be rising in the next few days. Its so sick seeing resorts in Colorado and Utah opening, just gets me more and more stoked.

I learned a ton of stuff on the tramp this summer, and my local hill is supposed to be redoing there entire park, plus theres supposed to be lots of snow this year. So stoked!

I spent 75% of last season injuried and stoned on my couch when i shoulda been skiing everyday. I am soo pumped for the season. And it's going to be a El Nino year here in Whis. Gonna be buried in pow this year :D!!!!!!!!!1

hey east coasters! i just thought of this....maybe itrs cuz i'm high but tell me if im crazy for thinking this.... dont we get like the leftover storms from the great lakes? and if thats true isnt that area gonna be 40% wetter. So in theory we should be getting more snow as a result of them getting more snow. Either that or it will dump there and leave none left for us :(

Based on those precipitation maps people posted it seems like either one of those scenarios could happen. Although I dont know if that would actually be the determining factor in how snowy our winter is.

Yes. Its equal chances meaning it could go anywhere, really. Looks like if you are from the EC and you wanna go pow hunting, your best bets are the PNW, northern and central rockies.
