Marker Squire Bindings

I just picked up a pair. I had the griffons last year and had zero problems with them. They were easily the best bindings ive ever used. I sold them this summer thinking i would be able to get another pair cheap. Turns out that didnt happen so i went to my local shop and saw the squire. I saw it had a decent din range and just was alot lighter then the griffon so i went with them. I ski alot of east coast park and some all mountain stuff too. Im not too hard on bindings. I am 6' and 145 lbs. My griffons were fine last year. Do you think the squire will be okay for me? Thanks guys!

They should be fine for you, i mean they are designed as an entry level park binding... so if your din setting fits in the range you should be fine.

i wouldnt that is meant for groms, im 6'2" 154 and kinda close to your specs i wouldnt risk it look at tramdock cause they have been sellin head mojo 15s for under 200

Yeah, height is more important than weight, and BSL is also important, I'd put a 14, 15 or even 16 DIN binding on depending on your confidence in yourself.

hmm...so i take it i should return the squires and get the griffons? i ski inferno at mt snow and i spin off all the jumps as well as hit every rail/feature they have so i guess you could call me pretty aggressive

hey i just got a pair of afterbangs with these.

the guy at the shop said they would be fine and i asked about the griffons.

Im about 5' 9" 175 and a beginner in park. i live in michigan so i dont really ever hit that big of kickers or anything.

will these be ok? they mounted my skis wrong so they are giving me a new pair but should i see if i can get other bindings too(might be a stretch)?

many people get high din bindings for reasons other than the high din. usually they will also be made out of tougher materials for better durability.

I had squires for a year and a half, I am 6'1" 185lbs and would like to call myself pretty aggressive. I dropped some big cliffs on them and never had an issue, unfortunately they exploded when my skis fell off my car. (not my fault) I then skied griffons for the rest of the year. They have been fine but have pre-released on me a few times and the afd on one broke off in crash, I would say you should be fine with the squires. It really just depends on how hard you are on your gear.

While we are on the subject of marker bindings, have you folks had any decent experience with the jesters in comparison to the griffons (just recently snapped the heel piece on the griffons) so i was looking for something with a little higher resilience. thoughts?

I wouldn't give out information like that, squires are not meant for a guy your size and the fact that you didn't explode them skiing is astonishing but also an extremely rare circumstance. Your experience is purely coincidence and should not be thought of as real information.

Yeah, I understand that, that's why I said they have been fine for me, not that they were a perfect binding or anything like that, haha. I think absolutely recommending any binding is a little sketchy. I also stand by my earlier statement that squires were fine for me. Not everyone needs the beefiest thing out there, If I find another pair of squires for cheap I will probably get them, Maybe I got lucky but the information that I gave is real information.
