is anyone a vegan here? i went somewhere the other day and all these vegans were there trying to convert me. i understand that the mass production farms are mistreating animals, but how about the organic farms? i asked the guy working and he said that organic farms are basically the same thing as mass production, just not to the same degree of atrocities. i think veganism gets a little rediculious though, i mean, they told me you cant wear silk because the silk worms are harmed in the extraction of silk, but for gods sakes people, they're freakin worms!

I knew a vegan at one point. He had a 3 legged dog that he saved, and another one that was blind that he got from the pound. Cool guy. Donno about that silk thing, though.

my dad was a vegan up until a couple of months ago when his doctor said he had to give it up or he would die. i think being vegan is cool so long as you take it seriously and don't preach. some people don't know enough to be vegans, it's very restricting, my dad gave up candy/soda all together because a large amount of the sugars used in those products are non vegan.... yeah.

My sister was a vegan for a couple years and only ate tofu and vegetables and just drank water. It was realll unhealthy and she was unhealthily skinny. It was awesome.

My sister, who is literally a genius, is a vegan, and has been since her mid-high school years, which occured sometime in the late 90s. I, a proficient debater, have tried many times to disprove her ideals but, no matter how good my case is, she always has some incontrovertable evidence that she's right and I'm the contrary. It's frustrating.

im a vegetarian but not a vegan. i couldnt really be a vegan because i eat dairy quite often and that would be hard to let go of. but i wouldnt eat meat either so ya. vegetarianism ya!

Theres some stupid people here..... veganism is definatly the way to go, but its extremely hard to come by in this lazy culture of ours. people who just say stuff like 'eat the vegans' and 'animals taste good' have no clue about the pros and cons of veganism and eating meat. I'm a vegetarian cause im to lazy to go vegan... hope to someday though

And since we're on the subject....I think organic farms are pointless...so much time and labour put into them. A child dies every 5 seconds because of food related diseases/ starvation, and we are worried about pesticides? I think rich nations like the US and Canada should put more money into GMO's and increasing crop yeilds to feed the world. There is enough food in the world to feed everyone liberally, but we hoard it all for ourselves. The death rate in the States has begun decreasing because of obesity...what the shit?! our world is fucked....

i'm a vegetarian... i was a vegan for two or three weeks just for fun... its really not that difficult, just go online for vegan recipes, i ate a lot of peanut butter, portabella mushrooms, soy yogurts etc.
