my life got flipp-- no, this isn't the Fresh Prince speaking, this is my story about my incredible victory, or luck, with money management.
It all started several months ago, in april when the t2i was first released. I sold my old DVC30 for $760 and found a t2i body for $730 on craigslist in my area (this was when only the kit was out, mind you). I was super stoked and used it a ton.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. I'm super pumped for the 60d release and think that it's worth the money for the upgrade. I find a buyer for my body for $800, and was super pumped to be making money off this deal. Well then I have this cash burning a hole in my pocket and I'm having a fight about a 7d or a 60d and realize that I'm way more into photos now than I am video. Great, now I think I have to drop several hundred that I dont have on a more expensive body. I start looking for options, and BOOM, a 1d mk2 for $500 in my area. I have a thought period and think to myself that I will be good for a couple of months without a video camera until I get the money to rebuy a t2i or 60d. So I buy a 1d, and decide to get a 70-200 for sports stuff as well with that extra 500. 1d mk2 and a piece of L glass for a grand.
So with the fact that I'm now on a aps-h sensor made me think that my tokina 11-16 needed a better home than only being used on occasion by me. It was too much money to leave on the shelf. So tonight, I sell it off, the buyer is super happy and I got just about what I paid for it (-30 or so). I go over to dvxuser to bump my thread saying its sold and I see someone is getting rid of their t2i's that they bought for their business. I click the link and HOLY FUCKING SHIT $600 with free shipping. Not 1 minute after the 600 cleared into my paypal was it sent to buy another body. I don't regret selling my 11-16, using a 24 prime was perfect for me and I wasn't using the 11-16 when I had access to it.
So thats my story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down. I HAD to tell someone, because I can not believe my incredible luck I've had. Time to take it easy and knock on some wood eh? ;)
