Can't wait for someone to stomp a more corked out variation of a triple. It was so ill seeing Andreas and Russ pushing each other when they both started doing dub right cork 12's at JOSS. They'd watch each other and kept experimenting with getting the proper axis's.

In this era of super-hype, is it such a bad thing to keep an 'almost' on the down-low?

Russ' triple cork 16 that he tried was super tight and grabbed the whole way, but the slam was a little more brutal than "washing out" as he described it.

I'm fine with guys attempting triples, but I'm annoyed at the Evil Kneivel/Monster Truck Rally style announcing of an attempt.

"Sunday Sunday SUNDAY!!! Watch the Flying Koala, Russ Henshaw, triple flippy spin the flaming jump of doom! You don't wanna miss it!"

It's fucking corny.

Hasn't everyone on NS / the ski community hate claiming for the last 5 or more years? What happened to that? MSP even made a whole movie making fun of claimers.

This pre-event BS is just stupid. It's the ultimate claim.

am i missing something? what happened to make this big shitstorm of "claim hating"? unless im mistaken all he's said about it was this:

"Hopefully once the event is finished we can put a bit more pop on the take off. I want to re-try the triple cork 1440 I did on a spring shoot with Matchstick. I brought it to my feet then, but slid out so I am pretty confident I will be able to land as long as there is a bit more hang time. "

he mentioned it on his blog in 2 sentences. and i hadnt even heard he had tried one in the spring so he obviously isnt running his mouth about it

you guys must just want something to hate on or something. i hate claiming and all but jeez take it easy

It's in Australia. Thredbo is in the same state as Sydney.

No body knew he had a crack at it previously, there's no claiming here, just NS hype.

It was also good to see the event get some airtime on the news last night alongside the US Open tennis, football finals, etc. I hope he gets it, people like him and Andreas are responsible for the maturing of doubles.

He just said he wanted to try it. People hyped the shit out of chris turpins trip flat attempt last year and I never even heard about russ' trip cork attempt at the msp shoot until today.
If you were about to be the first person to ever do something(trip cork 14) then you might be excited enough to tell your fans on your blog too.
