Serious fucking speaker help.

If you end up fixing this problem for me without having to tell me my brand new speakers are fucked for good I will love you forever.

So I buy some new rockit krk's, take em out, use em, and then put them back in the box to transport home.

When I take them out of the box the little small domey thing at the top (Idk what it's called) is bent inwards.

When I turn it on it makes awfull sounds and shit.


The other speaker which wasn't bent in is fine.




Please don't tell me it's fucked over.

Disregard that.

Both speakers work fine when plugged into ipod.


But make terrible sounds while plugged into computers built in soundcard.




suggestions?

well you fucked up the cone- options are deal with said shitty sound or replace them with new speakers- and the reason you ipod sounds decent is the fact that it is probably in such a horrible format you cant really hear any details in the music

good speakers show you how shitty a recording actually is

It was only glitching out because my computer was plugged in.


They're called tweeters and idk if its fucked up, sound seems fine and everything once I stop chargeing my computer.

use sticky tape to try and pull the tweeter cone back out and hope you havent bent anything inside.

Well I got it back out first thing when I saw it, It was in a box for 12 hours under a bus, but the box was padded so it's fucked.

AAAAAAHHHH, in that case.

It's a ground loop, it's the amp getting signal through the groud lead in the plug. You can buy can buy ground loop isolators that will remove the interuption for about $10.

Do you think the tweeter is messed or aything?

This is basically my first pair of speakers and I'm not even %100 on what the tweeters do.

Tweeter should be OK, I slammed a car one in my friend's door once while test fitting it and it was OK. As long as you didn't crack/tear the dome when pulling it back out. If it sounds fine with your iPod it's probably OK.

Yeah the nasty sound you're hearing is probably a ground loop, you always get them when using a laptop with an earthed power brick.
A small amount of it might be because the sound card in most laptops sucks the big one, don't be surprised if you get a few squeaks and pops coming through the speakers, especially when your lappy is working hard.

By the way, tweeters play the high frequency part (treble) of your music - your high hats, cymbals, that kind of thing. Also maybe a small part of vocals and some instruments, depending on the music.
