Stanced car thread

there are a bunch of different car threads on here- but a car that is stanced or flush is what gets me going- most of these pics are off of stanceworks, vortex and bimmerforums- but I thought it would be nice to show you guys some

we are all about rare wheels, split wheels, doesnt matter how you get low- coils or air(although guys with air get hated on pretty hard haha)

I just sold my evo to get rid of some school debt early- picked up a mk2 jetta coupe and Bagyard bombers- sitting at home-wheels are a secret- anyone at h2o hit me up- ill be the guy in bagged mk2 with a NS penis in the front seat

I hear you, it really depends on the owner more than the car. I have a jeep and a bmw e30 s50 swapped out of an e36 m3. Both can have problems but I take care of them so no issues really.

If you are bothered by my 'claim', it wasnt meant to be a claim. There isnt much to claim when you can find a good example of a 2001 M5 for under 15k. Theres a good majority of this site that has a more expensive car than me based on KBB. I dont know what your deal is trying to call me out on a claim when my car is nothing more special to most people than a Ram 1500. Btw, its a '95 YJ with 4.5 suspension lift, 2 body lift, 5 spees and it doesnt have a spot of rust on it other than the occasional clear coat rust spot from suburban illinois roads. He got it with 68k on it, its garage kept, but like me; he pushes his jeep as I push my car. If you couldnt tell, im not a truck/jeep/suv guy

everyone has different tastes and styles in cars and nothing ANYBODY says will convince them otherwise; especially on skiing site full of 12 year olds.

Exactly! Once the cars dont work theyre just the same, but its a different story while they work. Id much rather sink 15k into an e28 or an e34 with a s/c ls3 swap on a bilstein coil setup and total it immediately than drive a jeep. Its personal preference, all cars have different carachter which are suited for different people

Don't buy an E34. They are nothing but squeaky, fat pieces of junk right in the middle between a proper, good, old car like an E28 and a good modern car like an E39 or E46. I'm finally about to sell mine and am looking forward to the day I can mess about with a proper car.

Thanks for the acvice, but e34s arent garbage. Its because theyre at the point that theyre cheap enough to mess with wrongly. Im fairly confident that my knowledge of bmws is higher than yours, but I will respect your opini Ok n nonetheless

...and I was just trying to give you a personal experience? I currently have one (unlike you) with a S50 and 5-speed and all it has done is made me realize how great my WRX and E30 were. BMW tried to do too much, too soon electronically and it took away from the car.

Thats why E30's, E28's, etc shine is because they were simple where the newer BMW's like E39's and E46's although they still had their issues, had most of the electronic bugs worked out because the E34 was the guinea pig for it all. But maybe I just have an unlucky chassis...I just trying to give you some advice to look into it more before you dive in head first.

This guy knows what's up. I have an e30 with an s50 swap and even those have some annoying electrical problems such as the power windows. Oh and e28s and e30s just look better so stick with those. Plus the part support for e30s and e28s far surpasses that of e34s.

Turning an e34 into a track/drift car would ultimately eliminate any of the electronics that wouldve made it a poor experience. I probably shouldve made that more clear

Why would you turn an e34 into a track/drift car? It weighs 3500 pounds and isn't exactly the greatest candidate for a drift car? If you want a track car get an e30.

Because e30s are few and far between with what my ideal project car is. Again, I dont know why you dont realize that turning it into a track or drift car will lower weight extensively. Even with a 3500 pound car; a properly set up coil suspension with good camber profiles, and a turbo or S/C ls1 or ls3 will put out anywhere to 500-high 600s depending on other mods if I would decide to so so. If I have 2 seats, remove the trunk floor then reinforce it, lighter wheels, ultimately lighter engine, less electronics, lighter trans and welded diff can eaily take off 500 lbs.

lol all that work and a welded diff? if you swapped that LS into an E30 or even E28 for that matter you could keep the engine stock and it would have a better power to weight ratio than a stripped E34 with a 500hp motor...not to mention if you did your "stage 3 weight reduction modz" on an E30 it then wouldn't even be able to hook up. There's a reason you can count the number of E34 "race cars" on one hand.

I know it will lower the weight. But it is still heavy, long, wide, and just not an ideal platform for a drift car without a shit ton of work and even still I just don't see the point. 600 hp is a ton and extremely expensive.

Like the guy above me said. An e30 or e28 are a much better platform, preferably the e30. It's already light, and if you are set on an ls1 or ls3 you will barely need any weight reduction, just strip the interior and trunk. Not to mention the aftermarket support for e30s is so much bigger than an e34 it just makes the project that much easier and cheaper.

Unless you just absolutely love the body of an e34 and just want something extremely different I don't see the point.

If you just want a fun drift car, get an e30. There are plenty of them for sale out there, trust me.

Do they switch up the drivetrain to divert most of the power to the rear wheels when they track an RS5? I sure hope so because that spoiler is way too hideous to not serve a significant purpose.

Haha seriously? Regardless of what wheels are being driven, downforce is always effective. It could be fwd and a rear wing would like that would have a huge impact on performance. Wings aren't there to reduce wheelspin, downforce increases grip, therefore increasing cornering speed.

touring cars seem to be ALL about downforce. i dont know anything about DTM cars or anything much but they literally put fins all over the fuckin things
