Okay, I bike a lot(road biking) but I really want to get a longboard, because after riding my friend's I just couldn't get enough of it(almost as good as skiing but not quite.) I know I don't need it because I have a bike and all but the longboard just seems like t would be so fun to cruise around on and bomb hills. If I get one I'd have to go into my car insurance/gas money but I think I'll be able to manage seeing as they aren't the most expensive things in the world.
What do you guys think, is it worth it or should I just stick to biking? Thanks.
I love all forms of biking as well as longboarding. If I need to get somewhere within 7 or 8 km, I'll board, further than that I'll bike. If time is an issue, I'll drive. There is a time/place for all of those.
Get a loaded. They are fucking amazing. I have a Vanguard and although I was only able to ride it for a few months (fell bombing a hill and tore my ACL and broke my leg), and won't be able to ride it for another 6 - 8 months, it was the best longboard I've owned.
It rides really well. My buddy has a Dervish, and we've both been riding a long time and can't really find a big difference. The stats they have on their website between the two are probably the only differences. (Carving, Hills, Cruising, etc.) But I love my Vanguard, he loves his Dervish and we've rode eachothers and like them so.. you can't really go wrong but I wouldn't trade my Vanguard for a Dervish.
Alright, well I think I'm going to get a Kracked Skull M1 43" because they seem like a reliable board and they are much more in my price range than a Loaded board(my friend has a Dervish which was fun as hell to ride but that just doesn't fit in my budget right now.
longboarding is great, you should definitely get one! it's so much fun to bomb a hill and carve. you also get a similar feeling of freedom like you do with skiing. so it's definitely worth it, you'll want to start boarding everywhere. I have a sector 9 and it's a lot of fun so i'd recommend that.
No, no no no no no! Don't get a Krown they are like taking a 2x4 laying them across, gluing them together slapping some trucks and wheels on and riding. Terrible boards in everyones opinion.
P.S. I make custom longboards that are as high of quality as loaded's, Never Summer, and anyother major board company for nearly half the price. Check out our website for details and prices. Or you can PM!
Hahaha, are you fucking serious?
You can go upwards of 30 miles without ever putting a foot down on a longboard. You can go the same speed as a bike. You can do things like sliding which are fucking badass.
