Canon 7D recording issues

One of my friends got his 7D yesterday and we tried to record some video today and after pressing the start button it would only record for about 3-5 seconds then would stop recording. Anyone one here know what the heck is going on?  and yes there is a huge CF card in there so storage room isn't the issue

is the battery charged? I dont know much about the 7D but with my t1i the batteries gotta be pretty charged for it to record

You probably need a bigger memory card or whatever it is....

My buddy got a t2i and the same thing happened and that was the problem.

It's the speed of the card, not the size.

You need a class six.

higher bitrate on the card.

I think something like 144x , not too sure about CF cards

same thing happened to me (i was using a class 4) and I upgrade to a class six and it kept happening. I shelled out for a sandisk class ten and it hasn't happened since...

My 4 was fine, but I got nervous it would randomly fail, so I got the 6 but it didn't work... The 10 will have to do lol
