Haven't really been on NS for more then 2 minutes at a time lately so I might have missed a thread on this already but I did a quick search and didn't see anything. But anyways, yup its all started. Who's out there doing 3 a days like me? Shit fucking sucks but ya gotta do it.
I thought soccer preseason was bad in high school too....until my freshman year of college track preseason. Shit lasts the entire fall. A mile is my warm up/cool down and our workouts are unspeakable. I go back to school next week, and my life is officially over.
I thought I was starting the 20th because the coach told me to my face that I have a spot on the team already, but b/c im a walk on at Oswego I don't have to show up till the 27th or so. But i'm definitely not in my soccer shape right now.
i used to wrestle a long time ago but there was only one kid in my weight class in school (this was before middle school) and his family are beasts and I always got beat on pretty bad. Im pretty sure his brother still has the new york state record for fastest pin in his class. So I quit wrestling and did other shit. But looking back it could've been fun. I hadn't quite grown into myself yet, now beating people up would be great fun. But soccer is by far my favorite team sport, just above baseball. My high school teams were pretty good, I led my jv team in 10th grade in goals with 7, and last season at junior college i led the team with 10 goals in the mountain valley conference in upstate new york. anyone from ny know the area? We play like Herkimer, Onondaga, North Country, Cayuga etc..
I know i've been there a few times. The top of my list right now is Fredonia or Oswego and i'm going to visit in the fall and stay at both colleges with friends from my high school and see what happens.
And the school for the most part, the only soccer i'll be playing is club haha
The coach told me in an email to come to the walk-on tryout on the 27th instead of what I was supposed to go from 20th to the 28th. It's my fault that I didn't train nearly enough and I knew it but I thought I was still gonna be a shoe-in for a bench spot.
First day of my tryout, neither coach was outside for a single second because they were inside deciding who they were going to keep from the pre-season tryout guys. Of course it was 30% possession and 70% shooting drills that I excelled at, and the coaches saw none of it. Then the next day I practiced was Monday and I had to leave early because of my night class. Coach said he was gonna email us all by Wednesday and I never got an email.
I've been pretty pissed about that so I've been running and start working out before my shoulder surgery in January. Then rehab and training hard for my Senior year.
