so i have been on here for a bit now and i just want to know...why is it that most girls suck at skiing? is there one girl in the world that can dub? why is it that girls suck at skiing? /discuss. i know i am going to get alot of hate for this thread but it really isn't meant to be sexist.

Fuck you haters. i've got a 8 year old girl that i've been coaching who has progressed faster than i have ever seen a skier progress. I got her a pair of twin tips and had her on the mountain a total of 4 days. already going switch down most runs, riding flat rails and doing 1's off small jumps. she's going inverted on tramps like she was born for it. /claim

watch for next years edit.

why the fuck are all these guys hating on ladies??? i went to windells and seeing anna segal (sorry if i misspelled that) throw down in person was absolutely LEGIT. so if anyone hates just think: stuff is way more legit in person then on a video or ppicture. yes, there are guys throwing bigger tricks, but who gives??

of course not, for the same reason girls can't play MLB, or any other major league sport for that matter. Girls and boys are just built very differently, and I find this whole thread uneccessary. Plus don't whine about how most girls are not on the same level as guys in skiing, cause most of your egos couldn't handle it if we did match you.

ok i really didnt want to comment on this thread but the amount of ignorance and gender battling has prompted me to. so, like that girl said in the first page, girls tear ligaments much more easily, have a different center of gravity, are not as physically strong, and don't have the testosterone pumping through them that makes us want to battle through our fear. if a girl is scared of a trick but goes for it anyway, its courage, with guys a lot of times its just testosterone drivin stupidity.

next, and i honestly think this is even bigger than the biological differences, our culture is not exactly the most inviting to girls. thats one thing that annoys me a bit about park skiing is that we make fun of/judge people who are worse than us a lot. and also a large percentage of the people in a park are teenage dudes who still like to act tough when their on skis. so girls see overly egotistical dudes shredding the park and calling those worse than them pussies, what would make them want to step up? honestly how many girls do you even see in the park compared to guys? its like a 20/1 ration on a good day.

look at ski racing. it doesnt have that chauvinistic culture to the same extent, and there are just as many girls as guys. and girl ski racers shred! i know a lot of girl ski racers i went to school with who routinely put up times competitive with the guys, and if you watch girl pro racers their fuckin gnar.

so maybe if we didnt have so many little dicks putting up threads about how much girls suck at skiing, and we were a little more encouraging instead of just complaining about how bad they were, girls would want to come ski with the park with us more. i sure think it would be nice.

and sarah burke is probably better at every aspect of skiing than everyone who commented in this thread

I went to Turoa the other week and honestly half the people riding park where girl skiers and they were really sick. And this is all coming from a snowboarder. Dont hate on Girls if you really want to see them throwing dubs encourgae them dont repress progression

Truth. I'm continually amazed when you guys start hating on chick skiers. It's crazy to see how much women's skiing has progressed in the last few years. Kaya, Keri, Anna and Suz are reppin hard for the ladies. It's great to see so many younger girls getting into the sport these days as well. I remember back when we had a loose freestyle program just starting up at Bromley (think '99-'01)and it was 15 of us dudegroms, no ladies. Nice to see more parents being supportive and not forcing their kids into racing programs.

what I see in this thread is a bunch of 14 year olds that are pissed that a girl at their local mountain kills it harder than they do. So they need to make a retarded comparison between different gender of pro skiers

i think the main issue is that girls haven't really truly been pushing themselves until recently. t's completely unfair to say one gender is shit compared to the other because no women have completed 'x-trick'. the fact is, sometimes, there's only one guy that can do it, and the rest of his competitors cannot. what was posted earlier about gender 'oppression' is true. like i said before, women pushing themselves in sports is completely a new because until only a few decades ago, we actually weren't allowed out of the kitchen, were barely allowed in the workforce, let alone allowed to compete in sports, or participate.

kaya turski and keri herman can hang with the big boys. and there are a bunch of big mountain girl skiers that straight up shred so much harder than dudes. park skiing just takes more balls and the progression of girl skiing is getting better each year.
