Crappy park crew

So I was skiing with my friend during the winter at this small kinda crappy resort. we were out early in the morning hittin up the park. When we got to the rails i noticed they still had ice on them, the jumps still had a dent on the take off from yesterday, and there was a "slow" sign on the landing.

I was happy to notice that all the park crew equipment (shovel, rake, etc.) were "hidden" in the woods and me and my friend went about playing park crew.

that night we went out again and found the park crew having a snowball fight (prob high)

i know most major places have a ok park crew but has anyone else had a worse experience with the park crew at there local mountain???????

yea i ski at a nice place and a crappy place about half and half and the crappy place is annoying.. we always groom the lips to rials and we steal salt to salt stuff

at the nicer place u dont do a thing... they also salt on warmer days at liek 12 30 ish

We have a legit park crew. They built a smoke shack at the bottom of the park and they mexi pack into that shit.

Last year at a local hill they didnt have a crew the manager came maybe once a week and the park was only groomer once a week. The worst park was they had like a 20 ft jump and a 20 fter plus no crew = a roller of death.

Most of my mountain's park crew had been laid off, and there was only one kid there to rake. He wore his park crew jacket and rode all day. Didn't touch a rake. Fuck Sierra Summit and the management. Oh well, it was bought by a big Tahoe guy so shit will shape up this season.

my park crew isnt half that bad, they keep rails clean and jumps smooth but sometimes the setups are a little sketchy and (rarely) the lips are dented and shit.

ya the park crew at my mountain is good we have i think 2 groomers that are only for the park, some full time park crew, and stuff is fixed everyday.

cypress crew is actually pretty good and consistent about keeping features clean, but the grouse crew is a bunch of boarders that are nowhere to be seen most of the time, probably just getting baked and riding. fuck.

Although I'll admit Grouse park crew is pretty lazy Cypress doesn't see half the traffic that Grouses park sees so their crew would have to do half of the work.

I work on pak crew at Roundtop- we have a dedicated groomer- 15 paid park crew and a manager- our shit is pretty damn tight this year if you ask me-

now on the other hand Bellayre Mt- your park crew sucks soo much dick its not even funny- I was up visiting family- on MLK Day Weekend-the busiest of the year- they didnt open the park all day becuase they were doing a rebuild-and by rebuild the put in 4 rails total-fucking BS- with 5 guys

managment fired the park crew(who where all volunteers) to save money at my hill. Sucks because they did a legit job, but now the allready under staffed lifties have to deal with grooming which they never get to do becuase they dont have enough people.

Bigger mountains = bigger budget so better park crew.
Smaller mountain = smaller budget so less park crew members and usually bad ones. When it comes down to it small mountains barely make enough money as it is and there main source of income is the beginner skier. There not going to spend all this money on 1 part of the hill that probably just breaks even.

yeah mad rivers park crew is pretty bad.. i think its more just cause it is mostly a snowboarding park and therefore they dont care if the lips get eatin out, but by the end of the night over half of the rails are unhittable

yeah, it costs alot to make a good park that will actually INCREASE business. it is a huge investment, and if you cant go ahead and make a really good park, that will increase revenue, it is not worth it for most small hills.

At my little mountain near me not only park crew but ski patrol.

This guy broke his leg and in came ski patrol on the snowmobile with a sled on back. they decided to drift in to the scene looking bad ass. what they didn't remember was there was a sled on back so it proceeded to slide into his hip breaking his hip along with his leg

we have one retarded snowboarder in charge of the "park". we have like 5 rails, none with sides, one im pretty sure was stolen off the street. we build everything ourselfs. if we leave it up to them we find our one flat down rail set up backwards or something retarded.

me and my buds are basically our park crew we have 2 guys but they r never there and only push snow in a pile for us to shape the shed with all the rakes and shovels is always unlocked so u get random gapers  taking shovels and building jumps then breaking our equipment but anyways we maintain the lips for rails and jumps of sorry jump a 20 ft death step down to ice so ya

loon mts park crew is a bunch of gypsy snowboarders who always do a great job. They work all day and always make sure every lip onto rails in groomed to perfection

bristol has nice jumps, but the entire park is built on flatground. they also have shitty rails.


what they need to do is take out the halfpipe entirely, it costs too much money to maintain, and NOBODY rides it anyways because it sucks. we live on the east coast, a halfpipe is nearly impossible to keep nice. then they need to take the money they saved from not having to deal with the pipe and put in a shit ton of sweet ass rails. everyone would be so happy

My mountains super small. 6.5 (ones just a big bump. Circular. Legit.) jumps, 7 rails/boxes. Def not the best ever but it works. 9s and shit are just fine over our biggest jump.
Main thing is there's a huge gap in features. Either super basic or or extreme. No real middle ground for the kids learning to get better. Probably gonna get more into the development next season.

my home mountain's park crew is too lazy to rake the areas around the rails so the groomers go and drive right up next to them with their snowcats, and they aren't very good at it. They destroy the rail kickers every time they do it, and they sometimes aren't rebuilt for days. They even have hit the rails with the snowcats, the down-flat and butter box were destroyed this year by the clumsy groomers, and they broke the rainbow box and a flat box which they literally tacked back together with plywood last year, and these aren't being replaced any time soon. Gotta love the Ice Coast.

my mountain has a 2 parks one they have a day and night crew on pretty much all the time and then the other is never really taken care of they leave alll the shit on the side for people to do i kind of like it cause we always change it up
