Hydrofoil: Air Chair, Sky Ski etc.

I want to buy an air chair or a sky ski and was wondering if anyone on NS has any suggestions of where to pick one up. I am on a little bit of a budget in that I don't want to spend more than 2 grand but I would prefer to spend the least amount possible.

I found this one on Ebay which looks like it is from the skyski store. It has the billet wing design.

So I was wondering:
1) Where is the best place to get one.
2) Will I out grow the billet wing design quickly and how much will it cost to upgrade.
3) I have ridden one a few times and I think it is tight as shit, is there a risk of really fucking yourself up?
4) Does a tower make a big difference.

they are fun. A tower will help you achieve maximum height. not sure about the wings, never really researched much on them, i have one from like 98 that still works fine. Personally I would wait until you are old and your knees are torn up from wakeboarding. Is really is more like super kneeboarding. The feeling is unmatched by most any water sport.  But I personally enjoy wakeboarding/skating much more. You should be able to find them for cheap in florida, check craigslist, and waterski/ wakeboard forum under the gear trade stuff.  Also I have two wakesurf boards for sale if anyone is interested, four is too many for one man.

Exactly, I am old and the water on the lake I go to is almost always a little rough. I will take a look at the Florida craigslist.

A guy on my team is a big sky ski rider & he picks up all of his gear on ebay. He bought one recently for $1,200 on ebay. He swears up and down on the sky ski over an air chair. He's skied pro with Sea World, so I value his opinion.

A tower will help you get more air, but is definitely not required. I've seen plenty of back flips, mobes (full twisting back), etc. on just a regular release. You can get some pretty wicked air on those things even without a tower. They're lots of fun.

And yes, like anything awesome, you can fuck yourself up on one.
