just found this video- its basically hit wise a mix ocf checking and tackling- but with no pads- crazy fuckers




and the best team in the world the all blacks is even scarier

also the first video you posted is a different form from what the all blacks play, they play union that whole video was tackles from rugby league.

Well for starters the first video is of a sport called RUGBY LEAGUE!

the second is a sport called RUGBY UNION! (ie. All Blacks)

The 2 games although simillar in ways are vastly different.

The reason you enjoyed the RUGBY LEAGUE is because it is a rougher sport with more front on tackling and aggression and has a better structure of gameplay.

If you are interested please do some research because they are not the same sport and to anyone who follows rugby, you have probably offended. (which is a high chance of only me.)

Played for years mainly full back and wing.

QUEENSLANDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yeh I cant stand union! line outs, constant kicking, stupid mauls. League is so much more exciting and fun to play.

 i play aa rugby and to be honest 9/10 getting tackeld dosent hurt a bit the rules for tackeling in rugby are actually pretty strict.

not that its not an intense game but its less bad when youre actually playing it.

To anyone who plays rugby, league or union, you've got to respect rugby 7's. Probably one of the most physically demanding sports.

Same sized pitch with less players more running and ok less time per game but they do play an entire tournament in three days.

Union has been ruined by over-kicking though.

Rugby union is proper rugby, and is the rugby played in the world cup.

The difference between League and Union is that in League, when a player is tackled, play stops, the player gets up, puts the ball between his legs and then play continues.
In rugby union, when a player is tackled, a ruck is formed and play continues. (That is the most obvious difference).


Hits in rugby are big, however, this doesn't mean football players are pussies for wearing pads. The speed players are moving at, and the ability to block players in football means pads are pretty necessary if you dont want people dying or suffering serious injuries every game. (although i do think they could tone down the padding a bit).







Also, i prefer the old haka.

Rugby is fucking awesome.

I remember in a match we played at a tournament in Dartmouth last year, one of the other team's props had one of his ears half ripped off. That was pretty gross looking, but like a true rugger, he had it stitched at the field right then and there, had it wrapped, and went back in.

Fucking right.

That all black pre game war chant gave me the chills..reminds me of the time I played against a team that did something similar before the game (mostly just screaming/smashing each other) it was easily the most intimidating thing I've ever seen..i've never been legitimately afraid of dying like I was before that game started

Rugby is  such a fun sport. My team played this team from london and we almost broke this kids neck. And a few days ago my friend dislocated his hip and last year one of my friend broke his collerbone. Great sport but it hurts

Rugby is way intense, I got a couple stories of that.

1) My dad in college back in England was like kind of a big deal rugby player, but went over to France for a game and got his knee taken out. Could never play again and to this day his knee is still really fucked from it.

2) My buddy Matt in England knew a kid from school that threw a legal hit in a match, caught the other guy just right in his eye with his elbow, and pushed his eye socket back into his brain. The kid died like two days later and the kid who threw the hit went sort of crazy after.

My uncle broke his back playing in school. You get a fair amount of injuries but because its such a physical game the rules are pretty strict. And everyone at a professional level is fucking massive.

95% of those would be dangerous play and instant penalties, and a good portion would be instant yellow cards as well.

Ive been playing rugby for 5 years for my local club, and honestly its not as brutal as it seems. As long as everyone stays civil its safer than any other contact sport. Mainly because there are no pads and most injuries occur to the aggressing player and not the person being tackled. When bullshit like that video occurs is when rugby gets its bad image.

I have u19 MN selectside (all stars) tryouts tomorrow, probs wont go cause I broke my hand yesterday in a match, but that was my fault cause i broke the cardinal rule and put my hand out to break my fall when i missed a tackle.

btw I play scrumhalf, flanker, center, and occasionally hooker

gotta approach the haka the way the french did in 2007. Toes on the line, face to face with them. May not have had any effect on the game, but it was still intimidating to watch. Some of the NZ players didn't seem too sure what to do. Normally the haka scares the shit out of opponents, but the French came feet away and stared them down.

I got a chance to sit in a pub in ireland when they played scotland last year en route to sweeping the 6 nations tournament to be the first team to complete slam in ages.  it was pretty wild how much they got into it

One's slow..and fat people can play it. The other is fast paced and actually requires stamina.


Although I do agree, league is the faster more exciting version..Union is what purists play.

I played scrum half at school in the UK. Dived to tackle someone whilst running flat out to get to them, they were running flat out to get past and i took their knee at full power right into my face, i was down for a long long time haha!! One of the kids at my school though had to get air lifted off the pitch after a bad tackle once, the only time i've seen someone air lifted out of any sport apart from skiing!!
