Four Lions - British comedy about terrorists

Its going to be released in england this weekend, a few people are getting offended (mainly relatives of the 7/7 bombing victims) and whatnot, but good to see that British people still have a sense of humour. I imagine that if something like this were released in America, it would be banned/boycotted and whatnot.

Thoughts?

people will get offended at anything in this day and age. you can't release anything remotely edgy without taking some heat. That being said, it looks funny as shit. i'd watch it. who cares if it's main characters are terrorists. its nice to see people still have a sense of humor.

The guy who wrote it is the guy who did Brasseye too, Chris Morris, who is a genius at obliterating social stereotypes, and a brilliant writer.

I just watched the movie yesterday, and boy, I'll tell ya: best comedy I've seen in a long time! I hope they would release it widely in the States, but yeah, this movie will probably offend a lot of people. That is part of its magic.

A touching movie with almost rapid fire amount of hilarious (and very questionable) scenarios, such as wondering if suicide bombers get to heaven for blowing up a sheep on accident as it hampers the food industry, or police snipers seriously debating if a wookie is a bear or not.

4.5/5


PS. Any Brits who've seen it, could you explain the "Rubber Thingy Rabbits" parts... I watched it without subtitles and it kind of got past me.

It was surely on the line, I know. But I do know a couple guys and one girl who are actually that stupid and it's almost too easy to drag them on. So yeah, if they end up in the wrong company, their "confused" faces might be the last ones I see.

Its Rubber Dinghy Rapids. Its a ride at Alton Towers (English Theme Park).

He was saying do you want to be stuck in the queue or actually on the rides, like nemesis or oblivion (the big rides). But the thick guy says, rubber dinghy rapids ( a kids ride).

But this might be a reference to some of the London 7/7 bombers, who went on a team building excercise on rapids, before they blew themselves up.
