Hip Surgery Tomorrow

So I'm 25 years old and I was told about a year ago that my hip is mangled and I would need surgery. I'm not getting a hip replacement but rather a hip resurfacing procedure. Basically they are going to cut my femur in half and then pull the hip out of the socket and shave it down with like a bandsaw or something and then put it back in there with pins. Not looking forward to it, especially since I thought only like 65+ year olds needed this shit. This is prolly a shot in the dark, but anyone else go through this?

Ya man, that sucks. I had surgery on my tibia in January which really sucked. Good luck dude hope all goes well

well I've noticed a lot lately that my right leg is just not as flexible as it used to be. Told my doctor and he did some bloodwork and it turns out I actually have some arthritis in my hip. Saw a specialist and he said I'm a good candidate for this new surgery that is supposed to give me full range of motion back in my hip.

They told me that is was just genetic, that my hip is not perfectly round, but I swear this is from skiing. I specifically remember catching an edge off of a box and doing the splits and the pain was excruciating in my right hip - it was never the same after that day.

Anyways, thanks for the + vibes guys. Definitely helps a little.

i know a guy who works for ethicon, the maker of the medical devices that are used in this procedure. ironically, I was over at his house last night and he was showing me the tools they're gonna use on you when your out. whatever you do - dont look at the table with the gear on it before they anesthetize you. Scary lookin stuff....but common procedure, just be glad your getting it done in the spring! you'll be back at it in no time! +v

my parents know a girl whos 27 and needs both hips replaced, but that was because she played goalkeeper for the Canadian womens soccer team.
