Ski track creator

Hey,
I decide to learn as a ski track/slope (alpine, backcountry, etc.) creator/mapper/architect. Basicly that guy, who planes where to build track and builds it (or is in charge of building) ( [url=http://skiingthealps.com/UsedImages/ThickBox_laaxpistemap11.jpg][b]Laax Ski Resort track map[/b][/url] )
Which profession at school I have to choose, which one will be suited for that profession? Thanks for all your advices and help. :)

As far as I know there isn't a real professional designation or course on how to lay out a ski resort. It is pretty much just a function of the terrain provided. And besides its not like there are that many new resorts opening that it would be a full time position.

Yeah I know that to be a track creator you have to learn step by step few professions, but I have no clue which ones I have to choose.  And nop, I'm not to influenced from that fact that new resorts are opening.

probably engineering and then specify in geology...

i study geology and we have a course thats called mass movement and mass stability; its all that shizzel about what slopes are prone to rock/landslides or to rockfall; wether tunnels through a specific kind of rock are stable, where do you bouild bridges and stuff...
last week we had a given mountain region and we had to design a road from point A to point B that was the cheapest solution + still be safe....

quite interesting .....

Pretty sure that job gets delegated to whichever logging company can cut down trees where they're told to.

It has a lot to do with price (ie it costs more to cut down trees at a 70 degree angle).
