Red Dead Redemption

It comes out sometime later this month. Anyone else looking forward to it? GTA IV in the turn of the century West is what the game essentially is:


The trailer is a couple months old but probably one of the better ones out on it.

I brought my OG release Xbox (the Big Black one) back to school with me after winter break JUST to play the first Red Dead which was not all that good but I just wanted to.

Mixed feelings. GTA series are my favorite video games and I've gotten 100% on every one since GTA 1 except the PSP one. But, Red Dead Revolver was really short and not that amazing. Plus Rockstar doesn't exactly have a great track record with games that aren't GTA. Anyone else buy State of Emergency? Also Gun was better than RDR.

Might be incredible though but we'll see.

Red Dead Revolver was weird cause it started as a Capcom game and they couldn't finish it so Rockstar picked it up and basically just finished it rather than start over from the beginning.

I believe they said they wanted the first to be like what this one is but didn't have the time to remake the game from the ground up.

Rockstar got sidetracked with GTA IV cause this was going to come out before GTA IV and partway through they decided to release GTA IV first and then use that engine for this game.

I've been on a Clint Eastwood westerns binge in preparation for this. I think I have seen "The Outlaw Josey Wales" like 12 times now in the last 2 weeks.

It isn't a GUN knock off.... As soon as Red Dead Revolver was done Rockstar started working on this before GUN was released.

I've been playing it for a few days now and the single player is really good minus a fairly linear storyline.
Haven't had a chance to dabble with multiplayer yet though.

it has every single one of these things. except in place of sweet cars it has sweet horses. throw some gold horseshoes on that bitch with some diamond-plated reigns and you got a scraper.

whores and gangsta guns are universal.

It's like gta meets oregon trail from back in the day. Fucking sick. I love open world stuff. I'm sure they did at least a decent job on it. I might not be good at it, but def will play this sometime.

I played the single player for a few hours yesterday and its the most addicting thing Ive done since meth and heroin together. Spend the 60 bucks and get it, because this game is everything you thought it would be and more

nah quite the opposite i think. i saw a video review and it said 20 hours or so to beat main game but there is a unlimited amount of stuff to do other than that, a lot of fun stuff you can find to do like in grand theft auto.

I love this game, so much shit to do. Hunting animals and selling the skin and meat is a great idea.
I like the slow mo shooting thing, so good for getaways.

IMO,  Red Dead Redemption is probably one of the best games of this century. If not history.  It truly redefines the whole 3rd person shooter sandbox genre.  It truley is a mind blowing game and will be remembered for years to come.  I definitely reccomend it to anyone looking to buy a new game.
