Best Ski Patrol story/picture

I want to hear your best ski patrol story. I ski ant a little hill so the ski patrol suck but mine is at holiday valley i was bein chased by a ski patrol for god knows why so i went down a closed run and he just stopped and tried to find a way around it was funny as shit.

I dont know since we dont really have skipatrols in Sweden but everyone looks like the kids that get bullied at school. I thought Skipatrol was ppl who ride big mountains and stuff.

my story is one day last year i was ridin this tree run right below the lift at blue that the lift patrol can clearly see it wasnt marked off or anything so i was shreddin it all day then id go to the lift and go back up. At about 7:00 at night i guess in the shift change i go down the same run and a different like 50 year old lift worker is workin there and he calls me over and says ya that runs been closed for 20 years u guys could have been seriously hurt now im gonna have to clip ur passes and my buddy was like well its not marked off and ski patrol and other lift workers saw us going down it and said nothing so you make no sense and the guy said no for sure give me your passes to clip and if you even try and run ill get the police here in a second we were there for like 3 days so were like watever and he clipped and that was the end of our night he could have been the biggest dick ever

last year i was forgot my pass and one of my friends ridding up with us just wanted to chill in the lodge and read becauses he hurt his knee the week before...well when i relized i forgot my pass my injured friend let me barrow his pass....well i went out that day with his pass...we were riding around just being goofy...it was a pretty good powder day...we were on a lift that had a small drop from the lift to the bottom se my friends jumped off and not thinking so did i .....well it happens there was a ski patrol like four chairs behind us and we did not see him....to make a long story short the ski patrol took our season passes.....so i had to tell my friend i got his pass taken away...that was hard...ended up buying his season past this year....

actually liberty's patrollers are pretty chill. ive never had a problem with them and i do some pretty dumb shit there. the young patroller w twins is real cool.

Our hill got about 4in and there had been no fresh snow for 2 weeks prior to that. After the main runs got tracked out (which was very quickly) my 2 friends and I decided to hit some unmarked glades which  dumped you out right by the base of the lift. They are ahead of me and when they come out of the woods they catch the eye of some grumpy employee on a sled. He parks himself right beside the exit, just i time for me to come. There was a small lip going onto the trail, and just for steeze I did a nice spread-eagle off it and give him a salute. He stops me and says "Do you want to lose your pass or your life? It's like you fucking kids are trying to break your necks!" trying not lose my pass I say "Sorry, it won't happen again" he replies "ah bullshit!" but lets me go anyways. There was a ski-patroller who saw the whole thing. The only thing he said to me was "nice spread eagle".

What really pissed them off was the lifties name was derick and he kept checking our passes and after he started being an ass about it i whipped out a Zoolander quote and just said "How about you Derlick my balls derick?"
and then he decided to be a bitch about it.

one of my snowboarder buddies was exploring around our local hill and he ended up at the top of the tube hill. some ski patrol guy followed him and told him he'd have to go down to the bottom of the mountain. so my bud went and bombed it down one of the tubing runs with the ski patrol guy frantically following him. the guy stops him at the bottom and is all "what the fuck was that about". My bud, being the smartass he is, says "You told me I have to go down to the bottom, so I did."

Patroller said he has 10 minutes to leave or the police are gonna be called and my bud will be charged with trespassing. Funniest shit ever.

this is a good one. My sister is 9 years old and is on one of my hills' race team. Her and her three friends were going up the lift and saw some bad gaper, they started yelling "hey joey!" and "you gaper!" and ski patrol was on the chair behind them. He talked to them and tattled to their coach. And they pay to be on the team.

I was at Kicking Horse in BC and their hadnt been any snow for at least a week so we went up headwall. We then decided to hike into the backcountry area (we had beacons shovels everythign) and the avalanche risk was low. So we get into this chute and its waist deep powder the whole way down was so sick, anyway we get to the bottom and we come out and this patrol guy was waiting at the bottom and he came up to us and was like "good snow?" we were like ya. then he was like well to bad ur not gonna ski it again im takign ur passes. apparently the closed signs were facing the wrong direction. but was most definately worth the 4 hrs of waiting in the lodge after

im so glad my ski patrollers arent that gay!!!!!!!!!! those douchers on that show take shit wayy to seriously. today my friend hit my other friend and a ski patroller stopped him and started yelling at him for reckless riding. then he asked "have you been drinking or using illegal drugs" and my friend said no the ski patroller started asking him dumb drug test questions but my friend was smart and got out of it. as the ski patroller started skiing away my friend yelled to me "DAMNIT!!! my bag of chronic spilled in my pocket when i hit mac".

theres this one lady patroller. shes real short..white ski boots i think. one day, it wasnt that crowded, i was comming to the bottom of the backside down heavenly. i was comming in kinda fast but carving and in complete control. after yelling at me...i kinda waved her off. he ran after me and confronted me in the lift line. it makes me mad when i see them speeding down trails and nobody yells at them...

i was skiing sunday river about 3 weeks ago when we came to one of those "slow" areas. i was probably only going 5... maybe 10. anyways, i did a little nollie thing on my noses and got bitched at for jumping in a slow area

I love skiing tahoe, where the patrollers aren't as randomly mean and the rules are far less strict... I've never been stopped for anything except for the Gaper Slalom, and then, the patroller told me not to do it because it was a liability, not because he thought it was unsafe or not fun. He told me he'd love to compete with me and my friends in the GS, but he didn't want him or the resort to be held liable for any injuries.

So was at Blue Mt. in PA, the same place where that "Ski Patrol" video was taken, and it was my first time there. Im trying to get to the lodge where my buddies car is but its located halfway up the mountain so im having a hard time finding my way back. Anyway, I take a wrong turn and end up on some scenic green circle trail where theres literally a ski patrol at every corner waiting to pull people over. Because of this I make sure to go extra slow, but a patrol still pulls me over for going "fast" when i was goin like 5 mph. The guy gives me a talk about how i could've hurt someone and warns me that if I go fast again im gona get my pass pulled. Im like ok whatever, so i keep goin and like ten seconds later another patrol pulls me over and im like god damn it, this place sucks soo much.

never been back there since. fun terrain park, gay ski patrol

we were going up the chair with a patroller and we asked her if they were going to put the "experts only"
sign back because we wanted people knowing we were experts going down that particular trail. then she said shed do it just for us but as we got to the top it was already there. so she said someone else mustve done it instead so we started yelling they took his job! haha it sounds so lame in writing but trust me it was awesome

So I was up in VT this past weekend with my friend who happens to volunteer as a patroller on weekends. Were skiing down this trail and there is a group with an Instructor standing right by this 'No jumping' Sign. About 10 feet up the trail is a Patroller doing a terrain check or whatever. My friend throws up his hood , bombs the trail and jumps over the 'no jumping' sign and the patroller whistles at him and then gives chase. About 5min later the patroller catches him at the bottom of the lift and starts yelling at him and tells him he's pulling his ticket, my friend turns around and the patroller realizes that they work together on weekends. Obviously nothing really happened, but it was hilarious nonetheless. (unfortunately I didn't get the still shot of him over the sign with the patroller right next to him )

Haha at Sunday river two years ago a friendm if mine got their pass pulled or got in trouble with patrol, so he traded all his gear with another kid. The patrol was yelling at the wrong kid and he got so confused and pissed off. It was really funny. The video is somewhere on this site somewhere..it actually was really high rated haha

dunno if it just happens in america n canada but noone i know has had trouble with ski patrol in europe. dont think they give a shit about people skiing fast. ive got one story tho, was in tignes on my uni ski trip n we had a big sledding sesh that was organised by our reps n controlled by ski patrol. anyway about 100 of us got absolutely steamed n had to sled down this run in pitch black with the ski patrol. on the last section we all had to wait at the top cos tbf it was fucking steep and loads of people going down at the same time would be madness. so we decided it wud be a good idea for about 10 of us to go at the same time. didnt end well, i ended up sledding blind into a ski patroller at full speed taking him out, then proceeded to get up as my mate came down behind me taking me out and making me do a full front flip. looked pretty sexy. hurt in the morning tho. :D

I've been readin this thread and it rly pisses me off that those allmigthy patrollers can do whatever
they want.. just like those "cop vs skater" vids on youtube.
i've got a lil story tho, there was this small like 10ft cliff on to a lift path which i intended dropping.
i checked noone was comin and this angry lift lady yells me to go back up when im about to hit the drop
So im like what can i do, its neither straight up or straight down, and ofc its easier to go down, so she got a litle pissd off but i just told him i cudnt understand what she said cause she spoke finnish with a russian acent. But what could she have done? nothing... they cant take our passes away here :) ( they can like ground u for a week or two but thats for something like vandalizing the cafeteria or sumfin, not dropping a cliff without a "forbidden" sign on it)

You idiot, you skied a closed area called Darwin Chutes (guess why it's called that)? People hiking that ridgeline are dropping on the other side of the ridge which is backcountry beyond the area boundary.

Did you even consult a map, patrol or anyone with knowledge of the area/snowpack before going out? Obviously not because that area is clearly marked as a perm closure for good reason. I don't even beleive you have avy gear, and even if you do, you prove that it is worthless without the right knowledge.

Also, the avy risk has never been low in the alpine this season at KH, not ONCE, so you didn't even check the avalanche.ca report did you?

We all do stupid shit sometimes when we ski, but skiing a PC known for bad slides (people died there last season) when you should know better (since you have gear) is just retarded.

ok so this is a couple years ago. i was at pc going into kings crown and i get cut off right befor and miss the gate so i duck the rope. 5 ft from the gate then the ski patrol comes over and gives me a load of crap about ducking the rope and when i complain that im only 5 ft from the entrance he says that its no excuse and i wanted to punch him in the face. infact the memory is making me want to puch the person next to me in the face for his dooshness.

ok story number 2! 2008 season me and Bskip are riding canyons at the end of the season and we deiced we dont care about what ski patrol would or could do. so.. we spend a good chuck of the day riding a gapper loaded run spraying people and such then we spray people talking to skii patrol. they chase but we knew the lifties really well so they let us buz through to the chair. there was no line. anywho bskip and i are on the lift and we see them a few chairs behind us so we jump and then never see them again it was a proud day.

Alright I quickly skimmed the thread to see if I already posted these and it looks like I didn't.

Last season these two ski patrol get on the lift before it opens to clear the runs and all that jazz before anyone else can get on.  As soon as they get on, both ski patroller's ski tips dig into the ground and they face plant right off the lift in front of all the ski/ board instructors. 

Another one from last season, I was waiting in the same lift line.  There are some bushes in front of the trail where you get on the lift so no one goes under the left and gets nailed by people's skis and boards hanging down.  I see this probably 8 year old kid go flying through the bushes, only to realize that it was not his fault, but the ski patrollers who shot down the hill into him like a kamikaze. 

The first day at my mountain this year, only a couple trails were open.  Where the easy trail comes out is where a bunch of other trails come out, so there was a couple piles of snow at the ends of the closed trails.  We were just hiking up a little bit, completely out of the way, to hit a little cut out we made in one of the piles.  These two ski patrollers on a snowmobile come up and say that everyone has to move.  Of course no one listens so they decide to drive over the pile of snow and try to stop on the little lip of the cut out.  They ended up rolling the snowmobile completely over on top of them going like 3 mph, then proceeded to get up and say "you guys can't go off this" and acted like nothing happen.  I was laughing so hard for such a long time.  Whenever I am on the lift and see them, I always shout to them "Hey, aren't you the guys that flipped that snowmobile?"  Funny stuff.

The last day of last season, there is a little trail that cuts from the park over to another trail directly under the lift, and there was absolutely no snow.  Me and my friend would bomb down the park and cut over through the grass every time and one time literally 3 chairs of ski patrollers and rangers were above us flipping shit.  They were putting up a fence the next run but I didn't have the balls to blast past them into the grass haha.

meh, talk shit all you want but who's going to get you off the mountain if you have a broken femur.

and it seems like it's really only in the US where there's the mountains with messed up retarded rules. I've skied a hell of a lot of different places in Canada and have never had too many problems with ski patrol besides the obvious east cost 'no ducking ropes shit' which is fine cus it keeps the people who arent smart about it out of the freshies.
and out west, saying you got your pass clipped for skiing some chute and such. well no fucking shit. you're a retard to go into permanently closed areas. they're closed for a reason, not just for your own safety either.

but also, in Canada a lot of the patrollers are volunteers and even if they are douches (which they rarely are) you kinda should be thankful to have them around.
