I was reading through the glenshee snow 2010 thread on WH and came across a post, made by a guy called grant. Why is it? Someone, who feels the need to ignores the signs and drop into the closed area? Didn't he know, that the westerly wind was loading that steep slope and the run out there, is an obvious terrain trap?
I have to post what he said... Because it's pretty funny and makes him sound like a total nood.
For the record i have been skiing now for over 25 years all over scotland, the laps and canada. So am very comfortable with my decision making and ability to look after myself /group. I always wear a transceiver and a pack with shovel, probe etc. Additionally in my book a closed run (as in some Alpine resorts) means go there at your own risk and if you are caught out it is your own fault and you deal with the consequences.
I think i was vindicated yesterday in my decision making. As we all had a great (safe) day posing no danger to anyone but ourselves.
Well, after reading that. This grant character, seems to be very irresponsible. When he said “I'm very comfortable with my decision making and ability to look after myself /group” Obviously he doesn't have a fucking clue.
