Cant SLeep ... Need to sleep

So Im leaving at 8h tomorow morning , we are going on a trip to shoot some handrails in rimouski from the first to the 4th and I cant find any sleep... I tried taking a bath, hot tea, reading, watch tv.... nothing seems to work. Im also driving half of the way tomorow... what should I do...

Don't really want to suggest pills but if you have any excuse at all to take the recommended dosage of NyQuil or just a little more that always puts me out like Mike Tyson clocked me in the jaw.

if you are driving/flying you can just sleep in the car/plane...stay up as late as you want

I have found that when I go to sleep cause of NyQuil when I wake up I feel great and not sleepy at all.

I find if I cant sleep one night then the next day Im still fine and normal Im just more tired that night but if I force myself to stay awake, the next day Im completely dead.

word ive been a chronic insomniac for awhile and i just started to take melatonin 5mg's 2 hours before bed and it drops you hard and you wake up refreshed with no fear of dependency.

I'm pretty sure it's a natural chemical that helps you sleep. I used to take it a lot but it gave me weird dreams.

Oh, and honestly, turning off all sources of light, including clocks and anything else that may be glowing, and laying in bed is the best way to go to sleep. You shouldn't ever really watch TV in bed, or be on a laptop or anything. Whenever i get in my bed, i pretty much instantly go to sleep because i've associated my bed only with sleeping. The number of people who claim insomnia but never truly try and go to sleep is pretty funny.

its naturally in your body. I've been taking for a year and the worst thing that happens when I don't take it for a week is I have trouble falling asleep.

you can have a dependency to anything.

You don't have to have a physical addiction, you can start to tell yourself "I can only fall asleep if I take this medicine etc..."

yeah, but I really don't think the FDA would have approved it for OTC use and allowed ANYONE to purchase melatonin if there was some chemical dependency.

But then again, cough syrup...
