Mouthguards.

anyone else out there rocking one of these bad boys? I personally dont wear helmets I just feel like a bobble head and am never comfortable in them. Someone told me about dentist fit mouth guards, was fitted for one, and now I cant ride without it.

The amount of times just in the past week that I have landed straight on my head just going down groomers is unbelievable. Ive never caught edges before but my god its happened so many times on new skis. Its saved me from concussions a couple times now and im so stoked to rock it.

Anyone else on NS tired of their bulky helmet and just rocking a mouthguard?

my mouthguard has saved my head and teeth at least 20 times. get one.

I always wear a helmet. however, when im about to try a new trick or do something on a bigger jump than im used to, ill mouthguard it for a couple of reasons: a.) boosts my confidence and b.) my parents paid a lot of money for braces. its easy enough to throw it in a jacket pocket and use it whenev. imo, better safe than sorry.

to the kids saying it wont stop a concussion, yes, it will. it helps a ton. look it up.

but no its not going to protect your from getting an open head wound or a direct hit to the skull really.

but, fucking up your teeth is insanely painful and expensive as all hell to fix. im seriously considering getting one real soon, especially having no dental or health insurance right now.

and yeah, the kid who said no to shock doctors....meh. they are a bit pricey but it is a much better mouthgaurd.

I use one for backountry/big mtn stuff at nearly all times

I buy the most basic mouthguard at Sports Authority, the one that you put in hot water and then mold to ur mouth, costs me about 6 bucks, and saves thousands in potential dental bills

One of the main ways people get concussed (sp?) is by their jaw being moved. a mouth guard will stop your jaw moving so much thus preventing concussion, why do you think rugby players wear them? to protect teeth?? no to prevent concussion
