Read an interesting article from Voice of America
www.voanews.com/english/2009-11-17-voa23.cfm
it cites Transparency International who recently published a corruption index, ranking countries on a scale of 0-10 in terms of how much an effect corruption has within the country. (a score of 1 is severely corrupt, a score of 10 is no corruption)
see http://media.transparency.org/imaps/cpi2009/ for the global map with rankings.
The VOA article raises concerns over Afghanistan and Iraq as two of the most corrupt countries (ranking 2nd and T-4th most corrupt respectively)
I'm sure you're also wondering, The US is a 7.5, Canada is an 8.7 and New Zealand is the least corrupt at 9.4
I thought this index was interesting stuff to mull over -- What does it make you think about?
