Line Anthems or ON3P Jeronimos

So my parents are getting me a  new set of skis for my birthday and I've narrowed it down to 2 possibilities. Well...3 kinda including the line chronic cryptos. +K for help n all.

So I'm an extremely experienced all around skier and i wouldn't say "new" to park but not that great at it yet. This year I plan on going big in the park and learning shittons of new tricks. More than anything I like buttering so that's where I got the idea for the anthems, and that is why I'm worried about the Jeros b/c they have a medium stiffness. Also, in the park I like to do rails the most so I was wondering how each ski would hold up on them. The anthems are really appealing to me b/c of the butter zone but I am worried about losing all mtn preformance because I'm sure ill be spending time w/ my family tearing up groomers and friends tearing up Utah powder. So ns, what do you think would be a better ski for a butter loving, rail hitting, all mtn skier?

Armada T-Halls could be good for you. They have flex points similiar to butterzones, making buttering possible, and they are a bit stiffer this year for riding the whole mountain.

I'd say definitely the anthems or the cryptos. If you're a heavier person you'd be able to butter around the cryptos no problem and they'd be great for jumps and rails. if you're on the lighter side and really want more of a jib stick then the anthems would be good. the anthems arent going to do as well all mtn as the cryptos would too.

I know that this is probably going to get hated on but get the On3p's and support a young company that is really down to earth and knows what skiing is about. Don't get me wrong, as a bigger company, Line is probably the most in touch with what skiers want but I'd hate to see On3p fall apart since it's been in the works for so long and is finally coming to fruition.

if you like butters the rocker in the jmos will be money. even though its "medium" flex it will butter easily and will be much better everywhere else on the mountain.

based solely on the designs of the anthems and jeronimos, the anthem is a better pure park ski and the jeronimo is a better all-mountain ski. either one will be able to ski both park and all-mountain, but the choice is really what style of ski are you more interested in. my vote is for the jeronimos.

Anthems aren't an all mountain ski, so eliminate them if you want performance in Utah snow.  However if you are looking to do that much park, it might be worth it to have a park ski and an all mountain ski (aka Anthems and J-mos).

Well my salomon 1080 foils are still in perfect condition but I don't like the flex for the park...I could use both but I feel like I would be up on the mtn all the time and be like "i wish i had my other skis right now" cuz you never know when you're gunna want to do park or take a spontaneous pow run.

The J-mo sounds like they would be best for you. With the slight rocker they are gonna float better in the pow, but still have what it takes to kill the park and shred groomers with your fam. Plus its always feels good to support an up and coming company like ON3P, they are a really chill group of people. Or you could just buy lines like everyone else haha. No hate though, line is in touch with skiers and is a great company as well, they just have a huge cheering section already, gotta support the underdog sometimes. :)

Defs the anthems. You pretty much explained me to a T and ive sent a 45 footer on my anthems before. You don't have to worry about losing all mountain performance and they are fun as hell to mess around in the park and will be able to handle almost anything that you throw at them.

I spend most my time in the glades or jumping,  not really rails.  I think im gunna get the jmo cause i think there more of an all mountain ski.

i just spend some time in vail, skiing some pow and trees and all kidns of different conditions
i was on moment tahoes, they are about the same size, but they dont have the rocker

i found myself wanting to slarve and float, but the moments camber really wanted to hold and edge and carve and nose dive

the jmo is going to slarve with the rocker and float too, the nose isnt going to push down as much.

i think i might end up getting some jmos

HMmmmm never really thought of tahoes,  doesnt sound like a bad ski for me then   I ski in heavier more hardpack snow then you at vail since im easter,  how would you think the slight rocker on the jmos will hold up on hardpack?

Anthems are neat and great, I have a pair and love them. Its going to fit alot of your uses but remember theres going to be a trade off. If your railing down the mountain on groomers, it will hold up surprisingly well but your going to notice under heavier charging that it begins to really chatter. If you center mount them Utah powder isnt going to be the best use for them.

yea i agree with the guy that suggested the T-halls, but the crypto's are a very stiff ski for all-mtn jumps etc. If you like to butter the Anthems are a good choice......I dont know very much about ON3P so idk there.    There is also the special edition octolands and spirals which are line anthems just different graphics for sale on Getboards.com , and thier pretty cheap.

This. The anthems are hands down the best park ski I've ever had. I don't do much outside of the park because its really all my mountain has to offer, but whenever I rarely venture into the trees, they hold up fine.

Last year, anthems were my one ski quiver (I live in Utah) and I skied pow on pow days with em, and they weren't half bad, maybe the wider width and the soft flex did it, but I'd get Jeronimos, cause rocker is the greatest thing ever, and you could still butter and ski the park and everything. Jump on the rocker bandwagon.

I hate my anthems for to many reasons to list, from seeing the build quality of ON3P first hand I would go with the Jeronimos without a doubt.

Anybody else think people are too stuck in what a company labels as an all mountain ski? Not to hate on you specifically, but your quote illustrates my point exactly, and so I will state my idea and probably not contribute to this thread.

Basically, my point is that when somebody says "all mountain" you really have to consider how you view the mountain. While it may seem foolish for somebody in Nj to own like EP Pros, I don't, but I'd have a lot of fun buttering all over the place regardless of the snow conditions if I did. IF it fits yuor style, go for it.

So maybe I did contribute here. If your all mountain is butters and just playing around, go with something soft and playful. They may not cut a sharp turn as well at mach 7, but it's a trade off. You'll still have fun on groomers and all over the hill, right?

Ok Homes heres the lowdown.... my brother has anthems they are simpy nasty skis in the park... once you get onto the groomers.... not soo much fun... the jmos will rape the park and are still nasty on groomers and powder and with the rocker you will have soo much fun dude. and seriously suport the underdog here they are legit.

Is this thread serious? I mean I love Line and everything but.... it isn't even close. Jeronimos are a quantifiably better made ski.

i would get anthems they are great all mtn because of their deep sidecut i take mine in pow and trees all the time as long is your ok with leaning back a bit in the pow they're great

Get the Jeronimos.  The Jeronimos a very well constructed ski and will hold up better everywhere by far except for the park, and it's not too far behind as a park ski either.

I'm an east coaster as well, I was just in vail for break.
The tahoe is a lot of fun, and moment makes a sick ski.
but its going to be burlier and tighter. like i said, they really cant to carve and they are super stable at high speeds.
but at the same time, they dont have a tight turning radius at all, so even when i really tried to throw down a GS turn, they would absolutely not. they just made some really big swooping turns.
so basically, with the rocker, you might not get that same edge hold, but you will have more freedom with the ski. more of that slarve, so you arent locked into the turns, but still having the ability to carve.

I think im going to be picking up a pair of Jmos, but tahoes are not a bad ski by any means

Anyway, go for ON3P. I have a pair of moments and the anthems, and even though one's for park and the other's intended for pow, I have so much more fun on my Bibby's. Everyone and their mom has lines, so take a walk on the wild side.

I own a pair of stock-flex 181 Jeronimos and I love the frick out of them. I guess I'll write a lil review.

Powder: This ski is only 95 underfoot but you would never suspect it when in powder. The wide shovel and perfectly-shaped early rise keep me afloat in it all. I got the opportunity to ski about 2 feet of champaign powder at Vail this season and I was skeptical of the Jeronimo's ability to keep my 210 pound, 6'4" frame afloat. I was proved wrong. They killed it all day; in the trees, in bowls, on little cliff drops... you get the idea.

Groomers: These skis have a race-base. In other words, they are really really fast. Right now you're probably saying, "okay well, my curent skis are really fast." Well, unless they're race skis, they're nothing speed-wise compared to the Jeronimos. They hold an edge it all snow types and carve like no twin-tip I have ever skied. If you get these skis, you will win all of the races with your friends.

Park: I never hit rails on my Jeronimos cuz they're my powder skis, but I hit some jumps and they were super stable. I don't do a ton of buttering and jibbing on these skis for the reason already stated but whenever I ollie or nollie I BOOST. These skis are like slingshots.

Also, my Jeronimos are mounted at the recommended -2.5. Just for reference.

im also looking for a wider allmountain ski, you might want to look into these, which im also considering:

atomic patent 129-95-129 (i think) - softer flex, but def not noodly, reg. camber.
line blend
nordica zero 130-104?-130- zero camber, medium flex
k2 kung fujas- this years (not next years), which are fat enough for solid pow riding but not too fat for all mountain.

but from the ones youve listed i would be going for the jmos. i havent ridden them, but everybody who has was mad stoked.
