Which car should i get?

so ive been looking at cars lately, and ive came up with my two favorites and cant decide between which one i like the most. i dont know a ton about cars, so im just going to put the details that i know. i just am looking to get some other peoples oppinions.

04 silver mazda rx8. manual. has about 80,000 miles on it. leather interior

06 orangeish mitsubishi eclipse. automatic. has about 50,000 miles on it. the person who had it before did a little stuff to it, just chromed out a few things out. 

both get decent mpg (cant remember the exact number), and have okay sound systems

the rx8 looks nicer in my opinion and is a manual. the eclipse isn't  all wheel drive (gsx version?) is it?
personally i'd go with the rx8. but before those i'd go subaru wrx.

yeah im startin to think ima go with the rx8. still not sure though. im pretty sure the eclipse isnt awd, but i dont think the rx8 is either. i will know for sure tomorrow morning though because that is when i get to test drive them.

Why would you get an RX8?

Because it wins by default. The 06 Eclipse is simply ugly.

honestly i think you should just get an imprenza i mean they are the best cars ever made and their cool and fast and shiny and the ultimate ski car because they're AWD and like ken block drives one and makes videos with them and i like to jerk of while watching them and i mean imprenza FTW

i would look into the previous drivers too

manual, sporty tuner type cars usually get driven hard. unless the driver was just driving highway miles or driving it real easy around the streets, its probably been driven into the ground.

yeah i definately am going to look into that. tomorrow morning is when i am actually buying it, and i am going to get the carfax and testdrive and all of that stuff to make sure everythings good.

first time i saw the eclipse i thought it was driving backwards.


swap out the renesis and put in a 13b for the rx8

and they need oil a lot more. Don't get the RX8, or the eclipse for that matter. Those cars aren't meant for more than 2 people, or skis. Unless you have a winter car, really research what car you're going to get. Then get back to us with a legitimate list.

exactly. Unless mommy and daddy have enough cash to just get you another car once you find out neither are those are really practical vehicles, then id suggest take a coin, flip it, winner is the one you buy. But if thats not the case and you are taking out a loan and going to be working for this vehicle, then i say do some research on different cars and go from there. Why put yourself in debt for a car that's no good to you in the end.

my dad drives an rx8 and besides absolutely terrible gas mileage its an awesome car.  its been completely reliable and we drive it through the winter (with snows).  the stick is nice and although theres very little torque (wankel) it still feels fast.

actually i am going to be paying for the majority of this myself. i was also looking into a civic, and an acura rsx. would they do better for me?

 better gas millage for sure, front wheel drive is nice for snow. And they at least have a bit of a back seat and a decent sized trunk. NSX's are nice looking cars. Same with civics depending on the year. Problem with and NSX is they will all most likely have been driven hard, same with civics, but there are older adult drivers that also drive them, so look for someone who looks more responsible then a spoilt high school kid. Also look out for aditions like cold air intake and exhuast, just a reason to drive them harder. and finally, if you find a car you are seriouse about buying and since you say you dont know much about carsd, BRING IT TO A MECHANIC TO GET INSPECTED, DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON THAT. A hundred dollar inspection can save you lots and lots of headaches and repair costs down the road.

Dont get either of them.

The biggest favor you can do your self when buying a car is look at all your options, look at every make and model. and pick the ones you like the best. Then ask somebody that knows cares about maintenance and reliability.

Then you can make a decision on a car.

Civics are boring, but get good gas milegae.

An RSX is a better choice. It has fairly usable backseats, and can accommodate some ski stuff. I mean, an eclipse will too, but 06's are girl cars unless you get the GT and the interior, though pretty cool, is really small...

Check out VWs. I find MK4 Jettas and GTIs are a mix of great performance and practicality. Hatchbacks are usually great cars for skiers. I've always wanted a Ford Focus SVT, those cars are super fun, and rare. But even a regular focus can be very fun when you learn to drive. Everyone's favorite WRX, but even just a plain Imprezza hatchback will be perfect for what you need.

Give us some more info. Budget, exactly how into cars you are, and how much you want to look like you are into cars. Also, check out autotrader.com, put in very specific guidelines. That's how I found my car. i.e. under 75K, manual, hatchback, $7K-13K...

first, whats your budget?
and in my opinion the rx8 is definatly the better car to have, unlike the rx7, its extremely reliable.
people are fucking retarded with cars, they look at a cars 0-60 time and if its .5 seconds slower than the next car then suddenly it sucks. 
an rx8 is much more of a sports car than an sti or evo for sure, but since its slightly slower to get to 60 people look right past it. if your going to be driving around with a stopwatch then sure get the sti so you can feel awesome when you accelerate through the intersection faster than the next car.  but a street car, times dont mean shit.
the rx8 is amazingly  ballanced has a great engine, brakes, feel, everything is perfectly matched. 

oh and since when do you need AWD for snow? get some snow tires and your more than fine. AWD only became widly used like 15 years ago, and before then people got around fine, you dont need AWD at all to drive in snow, you just cant be a huge pussy. the rx8 has back seats with pretty good room,  good luggage space, and you can put a ski rack on it, so why wouldnt it work or be practical? 

so i say get a rx8 for sure

neither, RX8's are known for horrible reliability.

the eclipse is a total chick car/gay.


either way i feel like you have no idea what you want in a car because your between two completely different cars, a RWD sports car and a FWD piece of shit.

you need to give us a better description of your lifestyle/driving choices/daily uses etc...

As much as I hate japanese cars, go with the rx-8 because that actually is a sweet car Or get a land rover discovery :)
