I wasn't learning anything. Kept trying to do everything at once.
Then my friend started skiing with me and would tell me to do one small thing at a time with out telling me why. I would just do it instead of thinking about it. So to get my boxes smoother he would say, ski right next to me. I would and it would be smoother. Then he would say, stay a few inches lower, I would and my balance would be better.
With jumps I just had to get the mentality that I am going to fall and I fall alot and I don't get injured. I get hurt constantly, but not injured. I am not going to get injured on anything less than 30 feet cause i know what to do with my arms when I know I'm falling and I'm not doing anything inverted yet. As soon as I realized this, I became a lot less concerned about landing properly and more concerned about doing everything else properly. Once my grabs got better and what not my landings naturally got smoother.
I tried the whole, try to copy what everyone was doing and it didn't work for me, I had to figure it out a little bit at a time.
