Where is good in the states to do a season?

Need some ideas on where in the states i should go, looking for somewhere to do a season with good backcountry skiing. Heard some good stuff about jackson Hole, anybody else have any thoughts?

what's the deal with Crested Butte backcountry anyways. They don't have gates and stuff like other resorts, right? Is there legit stuff to poach, oldschool JHAF style? I know you have some in bounds gnar, but everyone knows that the best of the goods much be earned.

Obviously Utah is famous for pow. Backcountry there is great I spent last season touring in UT and it was amazing

Uh...no gates because CB is a BUTTE (stand alone mountain) there isnt much on the mountain that you'd really want to ski "out of bounds" There is 4th Bowl... and a few other spots... but anything youd want to ski is already in bounds. CB backcountry is all of the mountains around CB...Whetstone,Axtell,Emmons,Whiterock....the list is huge Gotta have the backcountry skillz though some of them are pretty gnarly.

pretty easy bc access throughout the cottonwood canyons. also bonus is that it is only a 30 minute drive from slc for the some of best skiing out there.
i'd say jackson is a good place for that as well

if you don't care about park go to utah, if you wanna get into it come to the Vail (male) valley and bring friends as previously started.  As a Sweed im assuming your 6ft with blonde hair and blue eyes.

All the other people are right, but you could also do Mammoth. Place gets shat on and stays open for at least 7 months out of the year.

if you want lift accessed good backcountry, move to juneau

if you want to tour to get sick terrain, move to anchorage or girdwood

theres a longer season, better snow, and better weather here, but for lift accessed, it doesnt get better than juneau

If you are going to do a season look at the town. CB is sick but the town is expensive and you would probably have to live in Gunnison which I am pretty sure is the coldest place on earth.

Steamboat is really sick town though and good skiing for the most part.

What are you talking about.... Park City? That's in Utah. The Canyons? That's in Utah. There are killer parks in Utah, just not at Alta or Snowbird. There is a solution. Buy 2 passes.

I lived in Tahoe for several years, skiing Squaw everyday.  I highly recommend Tahoe.  Otherwise, I would probably go with Utah or Jackson.  Mammoth would be another possibility.
