I am trying to decide weather to get one of the following
ford f150 fx4
ford f150 raptor
nissan titan (4x4 model)
subaru wrx sti

I live in malibu califounia, I am 17 and i am probably going to go to school in CO, i was just wondering what the best choice would be

fuck it! get a damn f150, cause theyre gonna hold up better clearance, get 4 wheel drive, and just sand bag it in winter, personally i dont care for how damn fast my car can go id rather have a rapist van then a  shitty celica

WTF? You went from pickups to a car with nearly nothing similar to pickups. I know Mommy and Daddy will be paying for whatever the fuck you want, but make sure you actually know how to drive the STi, I'm pretty sure the whole process of shifting is different than any normal manual vehicle. If you're hauling anything, go for the truck. If you want performance and handling, go for the STi.

for work i drive a titan, and in the winter i've gotten out of situations i cant imagine other trucks getting out of

it also has the offroad package

but i'm going to say buy american and get an F150

Definitely. If you decide you want a truck, Ford or Toyota is definitely the way to go. I think Nissans are pretty good but Toyotas are definitely the best trucks out there right now. They last the longest, handle the best, and will save you from having to pay a shitload of repair fees like you would with a GM or Dodge. Stay away from an American vehicle if possible.

For sure, I roll a Toyota 4Runner, and that shit charges up to Tahoe. If I had the choice of Toyota, it would be a Tundra, FJ or 4Runner.

Not really, the clutch is maybe a tad more aggressive than most standard manuals. And if he has been driving a Porsche like he claims, he won't have any problem with an aggressive clutch

Dude if you are 17 do not get an STi...get a WRX and learn how to drive that to its limits then get an STi.  An STi is a huge amount of power to handle, not saying you can't but unless you have a ton of performance driving practice you are putting yourself in a bad situation.

On top of that you have to learn how to drive it's manual and pay HUGE insurance prices.  Having an STi at that age is just silly IMO.  I would seriously consider a WRX at 17.

Didn't see you used to drive a Porsche, you are probably better off than most kids that get STi's then.  So it may not be a bad option.

Yeah, it's a nice car, I like them about as much as I can like a 4 banger. Don't let NS sway you though, there are wayyyyy too many STi nutswingers on this site

Get the F=150 4x4, I have a new one and I love it, its so solid. Chicks dig trucks! I just throw all my gear in the bed and pile up the friends in the cab, fits 5 easy.

For sure. Toyotas last forever. I know someone who used to drive a Dodge pickup, and then decided to buy a Toyota just because after test driving he found the Toyota to handle so much better. He also said the weight was more towards the center on the Tundra too, which helped prevent fish tailing. You cannot go wrong with Toyota.

One of the reasons why I am not getting an STi and building my WRX haha...so many people are just obsessed with STi's for now reason.  They are badass, but too many people just blindly love them.  Already at stock STi numbers as it is anyways.

true, i needed sand bags in my explorer this past winter, its a manual rear wheel only though, and alot of the roads i take to the resort for skiing/working are really sharp and hard turns, it just helps with traction cause my cab is light

Damn, the more and more I look at these Toyatas, I want an FJ Cruiser. Such a sick vehicle. The only bad thing is the poor sight lines but the thing is a fucking beast anywhere else and they looks so damn sexy.

For now...then expect like $250 a month haha.  But if you can afford an STi you can afford that.  Just be careful though, an STi has similar performance to a Carrera so unless that is what you were driving, don't  wrap it around a tree.  Hence why insurance is so much in the first place.

well if you are living in malibu then guessing your not going to see that much snow. So i would go with the STI, just for the chicks. chicks love a guy with a fast bad ass car.

Hahaha ok...and STi will probably handle the best or equal to anything else on his list in the snow.  Amazing AWD system, great suspension, fairly wide tires and a low profile.  Unfortunately a lot of chicks find the STi to look "ricer boy" cause of the wing and profile.

You get used to the blind spots.  I've had mine for a year now and I love it.  If you get one though get the 6sp manual, it makes it so much more fun to drive.

I personally dig a guy with a volvo or audi with AWD and a nice Yakima roof rack.

Is that weird that that is a turn on?

I love the WRX outback and the Legacy outback, but the STI in CO totally looses its built for a mountain town appeal to me. And the other guy was right, it does look riced out...

Pick up chicks, get the most upgraded WRX outback there is. Or a volvo. :)

I don't like trucks unless you have snow mobiles.

i am going to add to this, that in my expierence chicks LOVE trucks

i was driving this girl home the other day in my GMC 1500 crew cab, and throughout the trip she kept commenting on how much she loved riding in big trucks, and how much fucking room there was in the backseat....

personally i woudn't go with a brand new sti i mean for that money you could buy such a nice car or for a little bit used even better like a bmw or smething like that. dont listen to the buillshit about not being able to handle it either youll be fine. f150 is sick def dont need the raptor tho so useless for everyday driving check out the tundra to both badass cars go testdrive them and see what you like.

Fuck both of the Fords and get a Chevy 2500 duramax diesel or a Dodge 2500 Cummins Diesel. You can haul anything you want, they look sexy, will go anywhere you want, and will still be about as quick as a subaru.

Remember, get a truck cus fat chicks can't jump.
