Hey i was wondering what goggles you have and how you wear them with the giro shiv helmet. The shiv seeems kinda big and ackward, i bought it mostly for the built in audio but I have spy soldiers and the two dont fit too well under or over. Post pictures please help :) and i was thinking about getting some crowbars what do you think
iv got the shive helmet with audio pads(dont use them though unless its really cold). my crow bars fit under perfectly, my anon figs fit quite well but not as good as the crowbars.
I have a shiv but I agree it feels really big on me and like my crowbars fit under it funny, so mostly I just don't wear it unless i really feel like fucking my shit up that day.
What size shiv did you guys all get? I wear a 7 5/8 in a new era hat and want to wear a beanie and c bars under it. I know I got a big dome...any suggestions?
shivs are definitely supposed to be worn with no fit pads, and goggles and a hat under it. the audio earflaps really sound like crap in my opinion, and i much prefer these:
I have a giro shiv and haven't liked a prior helmet anymore than the shiv. I wear my goggles with a beanie under my helmet and it works good with electric eg's and crowbars. I would say get one!
the velcro padding inside, i took it all out and the strap fits better
no i dont keep the earpads in but i could if i wanted to, it wouldnt make a difference
I just bought a giro shiv yesterday. My goggles fit fine under with/without ear flaps.
However my daddy bought me my shiv and when he told them I wanted to wear my EC Ninja under she flipped and said, you might as well not even wear a helmet because you're just putting your helmet far too up on your head with it. Someone care to give me some reasons as to why that's false because my naive dad believed it.
I wear my EC ninja under mine, it works super well, but the Shiv has a much deeper fit to accommodate a beanie (or facemask) and still fit correctly. This only works if you take out the pads in it. Notice it has a "subliner", which is designed to work with beanie under the helmet. This is one of the few helmets on the market that is actually designed for it. Also notice that it fits prettymuch the same whether you are wearing you ninja (with pads taken out), or if you are just wearing the helmet with the pads in it.
The thing that ISNT safe, in most circumstances is wearing a beanie under a helmet that just sits really high on the top of your head and isnt stable. The Shiv is not that.
