The link below is about a washington times article on illegal immigration.

at least somebody is trying to round up these illegal immigrants and deporting them back to Mexico, with no help from Mrs. Smith.

maybe if we get ride of a few million more illegals we wont have to adopt uncle obamas healthcare reform because we would have ridded the system of untold amounts of wasted healthcare money on illegals.

what are your thoughts? on both this guy or illegals?

God damnit I knew immediately from the article title that shit was going to be about Joe Arpaio.  Fuck Joe Arpaio, he's a fucking asshole.  First of all he's the warden of a privately owned correctional facility, so it is in his best interests to arrest as many people as possible, and stuff them into an overcrowded jail where they live outside in tents, because its just mo money.  Listen to the guy talk, he's an overzealous moron.

He also was part of a tv show where they tricked people with outstanding warrents into thinking they were in a commercial or at a party or something and then arrest them on tv, make fun of them and laugh at them.  One time I saw an episode where somebody showed up pretending to be the guy they were after, to claim some fake prize, so they just arrested him anyway for identity theft.  Then that fat fuck shows up on screen and says something generic about how Sheriff Joe's gonna come git ya!

Anyway, fuck that guy, didn't even read the article because I know its just something ridiculous.

lol. you mean the fact that they go get expensive ass emergency care which then costs us tax dollars?

3 solutions there.

1) Deportation. Clearly that shit aint workin. Its a big border, its impossible to keep them out.

2) Cheap preventative care. Sure it sucks that they are illegals, but id rather pay for their cheap preventative care than expensive ass emergency room visits. lou dobbs disagrees...

3) National id cards, and you cant get care till you prove you are a US citizen. i think we can all agree thats a fucking terrible idea. i dont want to die because i happen to not have my id on me when i get hit by a car or something.

I did actually read it and wow, I'm never ever reading The Washington Times.  That article was the most biased piece of shit i've read in recent memory.  I couldn't believe it was from an actual newspaper.

Thank god we have Janet Napolitano on the case as the head of homeland security, seeing as she had an illustrious career in keeping crimmigrants out when she was Governor of Arizona, oh wait, I was confused, she had an illustrious career allowing them IN!

a wall covering the entire southern border would cost somewhere around 40 billion smackers. That's a huge amount, but it's roughly similar to the amount that's set aside in the stimulus bill to extend unemployment benefits. I'm sorry, but I don't see how rewarding someone for not working is going to get more people to work? Put it to better use.

A giant wall might be an interesting way to give people jobs and stimulate the economy a little bit.  It would be ridiculous though, probably make me embarrassed to be American, and then it would just get jumped over anyway.  It would be impossible to maintain too.

Here is how you fix the illegal imigrant "problem". You enforce the law and charge employers massive fines for each illegal they hire. Problem solved. no work, no reason to come. However now you have to hire legitimate employees, health care, 401k's, workers safety. Not bad things at all but that is going to take a bite out of profits.

So the reason that there are still illegal immigrants in this country is because there are powerful farming, manufacturing, and other lobbies that want the cheap labor and fight to protect it. And the bottom line is no self respecting American wants to go and pick fucking grapes all day. So let them stay fuck it.

I disagree. Plenty of americans could use those jobs, but because companies can get away with charging 3.50 an hour, it's impossible for Americans to get any of those jobs because it would be too expensive to hire them. there are plenty examples of companies being forced to get rid of illegal workers, and, surprise surprise, in the same day they let go of their illegals, legal americans were lining up to take those jobs.

I really really hope you are not implying that $40 billion would be better use by building a wall.

How come it is the same people I see ironically begging for smaller government and free market principles, yet fall into the same paradox of saying keep illegals out? You are saying regulate the economy and it makes no sense. The only issue that could be argued against that is security and I don't see anyone arguing about security, just jobs.

I can't believe that the first post states that healthcare would work if we "got rid of all these damn illegals". Illegals pay taxes too on what they buy, if they rent, etc. Eventually that money is spent in the US unless it is illegally wired back to their home country (which should be illegal). The cost correlates FAR more to Americans having put off keeping a healthy lifestyle and getting quadruple bipasses when they are in trouble.

at least if an american goes in and gets free healthcare, taxes are still coming out of their paycheck..... but thats assuming they work.

How long do you think a system can last where expenses outlast the revenue source coming in?

a few years, maybe at best.... which is what is happening right now....

there is no free lunch but our government is making it sound like there is...

Let me add my quick perspective as a man who has immigrated here under questionable circumstances.

If you really think we receive a lot of help from the government, you have to be fucking kidding me. You have to claw and chew your way just so you may survive. You know how fucking hard it is to get started in this country from scratch? This is the only country in the fucking world where they would let you rot on the street, where if you get sick, good fucking luck, citizen or illegal. Trust me, the only bad things that some illegals try to openly do is cause crime just to feed themselves. They don't come here thinking "Yo hombre, lets fuck up the fundamentals of the American constitution." They couldn't care less, they just want to get theirs. That's the one thing a lot of you need to take into account, immigrants really don't care enough to knowingly fuck with your American ideals, we just want to get ours and get it any way we can.

Coming here from another country is very fucked up, believe me. Especially when you have noone here that you know, you are just thrown on the street like an animal and expected to "pull yourselves up by your bootstraps." I see nothing wrong with that, that is how I got to where I am, but the extent that the American government completely disregards their people is laughable.

Illegals (different from immigrants) do everything they can to feed their families and hide out in the shadows just so they can get ahead. By this I don't mean that they rob or kill to get it done because the last thing they want is to get into trouble and end up back in their country. The people who you see on tv are the actual citizens who are too fucking lazy to do anything with their lives. They are too fucking proud to get a dish washer job or wash cars or fucking pick oranges. Even lazy fucking hippies don't do shit but live on welfare, and preach about peace and love. Would you work for minimum wage and drive a beater honda, or would you rather get $45k a year and drive a blinged out brand fucking shiny new Tahoe. Illegals don't even walk into a welfare office or healthcare facility, they stay at home and find ways to carry out any sickness they have as long as it means staying in this country. Most people get a cold and they are on their way to the hospital. I've seen people get a concussion and call an ambulance. There are so many illegals who are trying to get an better education than what's offered in their country but are unable to because of their status. And people say they are too god to attend a community college when many illegals would take that opportunity

This is where your tax money/welfare checks are going. to help these lazy over privileged citizens that don't know how good they have it and still have the balls to say the government doesn't care about them
