Ski mount

i have never center mounted a ski and i was wondering if you can still do lots of park

of course center mounted looks cooler too

center mount is only for park. makes you have less swing weight and makes it easier to land/take off switch.

i lol'd. if you center mount a ski that is designed to be mounted further back you will lose some ability to carve because the ski is intended to be mounted at its narrowist point in the side cut. If its mounted forward of the intended point your tails will slide around a little more.

If you are a strong skier, you will have no problem compensating for the forward mount. I dont even notice the difference on my skis.

Well, since it makes spinning easier, taking off/landing switch, hitting rails and boxes easier, I would consider mountain -7 from center, maybe even -8 if you have symmetrical skis. Don't listen to any of the other kids in this thread. I rode a center mounted ski in the park once and it was terrible. For park skis, I recommend LINE Motherships, very nice flex, perfect width, EXCELLENT park ski. Motherships are bad in powder though, so I recommend getting some Afterbangs for powder. Just remember- Park and center mounted skis DO NOT MIX, even if the company or shop recommends center mounting them. Tell them to go fuck themselves for lying to you.

speaks the truth, my volkl walls were mounted center, but then i traded them for volkl race tigers and traditional mounted them for improved stability in deep pow and switch landings from 20 foot cliffs

I don't even mount my bindings anymore. I just put grip tape on the whole top sheet and rip the mountain in my yellow toga. Bindings are for pussies.

Its all about personal preference.  Technically speaking, you will have an easier time spinning with center mounted bindings, but whether or not you will notice the difference is debatable.  If they are dedicated park skis I dont see the problem.  But if you are using them for all mountain skis, definitely set them back a little.
