Is 98mm underfoot enough for powder days
so im just curious i look on sites and most say that 98mm underfoot is good for pow but i dont know if i want to go wider
for a powder only ski i would go wider (depending on how much you weigh), for an all mountain ski its touch fat, but will still be great in powder.
go wider. my all mt. ski is about 98 while my powder ski is 112. i would go a minimum of 110 underfoot for a pow ski
-Now remember Kif, the quickest way to a girl's bed is through her parents. Have sex with them and you're in
-Is there some reason a robot made of wax can't take a nap standing up in the middle of a bunch of wax robots? Or does that confuse you?
In short, if you know how ski then yes, 98mm will be enough to ski pow. Obviously it'll be hard to ski deep, heavy pow pow but if you know how to ski powder you shouldn't have a problem.
it'll do just fine.
WHO THE FUCK IS WEEZY
if you have to ask it is probably fat enough

yeah im 170 and 5 10 so yeah it will be like an all mountn ski also a park ski
people have been skiing pow on skinny skis for years, you an do it on anything.
think about it. how wide were skis 10 years ago when people were going out into the backcountry? 60? 70 maybe? you can ski powder with any width, you just need the technique.
- aspirin is perfectly legal, but if you take 13 of them motherfuckers it'll be your last headache.
Its funny how skiing and skis have changed. 4 or 5 years ago 100mm under foot was a "snowboard", and everyone thought it was just plain stupid or silly. Way before that, 70mm underfoot was huge, beyond comprehension to some who grew up on straight wood sticks with no edges, no base, upwards of 230cm long, and anywhere from 40-60mm underfoot. Nowadays "all mountain" is considered around 100mm underfoot, and powder skis are generally 110mm+, 120mm and 130mm being common. Thank whoever you want to for the progression of gear, but in short Yes, 98mm underfoot will do just fine for powder days.
exactly currently i ski pow on jon olsson pros and i do fine. (wish i had a pow ski though)
It used to work a few years ago...not sure anymore, snow has changed so much lateley.
i took my scratch brigades with 98mm underfoot to japan to shred pow. and yeah: it worked. super solid ski btw
