i got a rail form my cousin and it had been sitting in his farm field for a few years and was fairly rusty so i just took my right angle grinder with a sanding pad (not a grinding wheel) and lightly went over it until i reached clean metal. at this point i let it sit and i got candle wax a dripped it on, very similar to a waxing a ski method. i then heated it up so apoint where it was liquid and slowly ran a credit card (old one) down the rail to make it consistent. now some wax dripped off the side but when it dried i simply ran the crdit card down each side and knocked the wax off. Over the winter the rail slid smoothly and i had no problems with it
i meen really.... there are over like 1,000,000 results on google if he had taken the 9 seconds to do it, i don't have a problem with questions, but i have a problem with lazy people; meh, whatever.
