I was all about to call him a dumbass for saying Carter 2, but he did say favorite. So I can't hate too hard, his taste of rap music just sucks. At least he's not trying to say it's the best rap album ever.

i don't know why erryone on NS is so in love with Deltron 3030. Del's voice annoys the hell outta me, and the lyrics arent amazing. the beats are pretty good but all around not that amazing.

Illmatic and Ready to Die come to mind whenever I hear best album ever.  Deltron 3030 is also excellent.

As for my favorites I would have to give it to College Dropout (Kanye West), Food & Liquor (Lupe Fiasco), and The Platform (Dilated Peoples)

well its to guys rapping ( Vast Aire & Vordul Megallah) and one guy on the beats (EL-P) but yeah its way unique. and i like it more for the lyricism than the beats

Jesus, it's like people try to pick fights when they are on the internet. Cowards behind their anonymity.

Not once did I say I didn't like the Carter 2. Not once. In fact I'm usually quite vocal on how I enjoy Lil' Wayne's music. I probably listened to C2 more times than any other album that winter it came out. I was really in to rap at that point in my life.

So how about you get your head out of your preppy, douchey head and start READING PEOPLE'S POSTS before you call someone clearly more intelligent than you, a moron.

That's why I didn't say anything about his choice. Just commenting on that if Tha Carter II is his favorite album he obviously has a poor taste in rap. There's really no way of getting around that. I acknowledge the fact he is entitled to his opinion. I'm just saying it's a bad one. And most people who actually like hip hop and rap should agree with me.

bad taste is subjective too though. for example i may hate death metal (i dont) and think that anyone that hates that has bad taste in music, but that doesnt mean they do, it just means our tastes dont match up.

Well Raekwon would definitely not be up there for me. Maybe top 50 if I thought about it.

Once you get out of the big obvious ones like Ready to Die, Illmatic etc. Albums that should be at everyone's top I start getting weird choices like Mos Def's Black on Both Sides. Most people would never consider it as a fave but I could listen to it all day.

But I'm not one to really sit down and make lists. I just like judging other people's lists.

See that's crossing genres. Like I'd never tell a person they had bad taste in music for liking country. I might make fun of them til my face turned blue but I still would never say they actually had poor taste in music.

I guess what I should have said is that he has an immature taste for hip-hop. That's the only explanation for his pick. I just assumed that if you're making a thread on favorite album ever, you would know your music. And almost be a connoisseur of it. Which he might. I just highly, doubt it.

I love mos def, completely forgot about black on both sides. Mathematics is one of my all time favorite songs and the whole album is bomb. Probably in my top 5 if I really put some thought into it

sorry about the caps, but i felt like yelling was the only way to properly convey this. if you dont have it, download that shit, and then tell me that its not some of the best rap ever created. all the beats are done with a band, and only a band. and black thought's lyrics are so complex and intricate its mind-boggling, he's so hip that hes square.
