A lot of you have done the whole college thing, but i was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a school had a very good engineering program but also had film and video programs/courses? I want to go into mechanical or aerospace engineering, but part of me wants to film and be a ski bum. Location would also be good to know, slope side beats florida.
Sparknotes: Good engineering school with any film programs? Close to mountains?
USC is what your looking for...we have an awesome engineering program and the film school is second to none. Theres also a really active ski and snowboard club with a ton of really good park skiers. LA has an endless array of things to do as well.
what mountains are close/how long of a drive are they from USC? and I have heard good things about UCBoulder (ranbow you said that right?) too, and my guidance councilor has mad connections there.
Mammoth is about 6 1/2 hrs away (people car pool up so if you don't have a car its not a big deal) and if you join the ski club you get to use their house up there so you can just stay the weekend. Pretty much you can ski as many days as your schedule allows for around 1000 dollars. I forgot to mention also USC has really good financial aid. The professors want you to succeed and when you graduate theres a massive network of Trojan alumns looking to hire you.
If your not 100% behind that engineering degree its not gonna happen. Not a whole lot of extra time for any other degrees or programs, other then a math minor since you will almost be getting one anyway...
haha CU doesnt have aerospace?? are you kidding?
im pretty sure NASA gives more money to CU for research than any other university in the country
tons of astronauts have graduated from CU
if there is one program they do have..its aerospace engineering
USC is rated the 26th best engineering school in the united states by U.S. News and is 26th overall out of ever university in the u.s. it is a great school.
yea i live in maine, i know about orono. im going to have to pass on that one.
and i am thinging more about mechanical than aerospace. aero is cool, but it is so hard to find a job and it is really demanding, so i'd rather get a sweet mechanical degree
