Are my twin tips too short?

I recently bought 09 line chronic skis for the 2009/2010 season. Im 5'8" and ordered the 156 cm ones online. The top of the skis come up to my lips. Even though it will be easier to spin and stuff, are they too short?

It really depends on what u do with your skis and your level of riding. if your new to ski, 156 will be alot easier to handle. But if your an advance skier and like jumping a lot, longer is better. Theres seems to be a thrend right now going with shorter skis. But to your lip is really short though

super short, I'm 5'8" 155lbs and I ski 169s-176s so the answer is yes...too short

its all about how you ski man. Almost everyone on here will tell  you you need to get 181s or something ridiculous. i skied 156's last year along with a pair of 167's and i was about your size then so its preference. There are positives and benefits to both.

it is how you ski but that's too short. im around your height and my skis are 169s

As said, depends on how you ski and your skills.  But as a general rule, yea, there to short.  Im like 5'4 and have 169 Bents and 172 Elizabeths.

There too short but they'll work. i had 161s when i was your height

i wouldnt say there too short its more of a personal preference, i had 161 invaders when i was 5'11'' and they were super light and easy to spin, if i were you i would use them

its good to get a ski between your eyes an the top of your head. if you are a beginner park skier, then those skis wont be horrible, but 160-170 would also have been good. you will see rapid progression on those skis, but you might struggle with some of the landings off bigger jumps.

yeah im 59 130lbs andi ride 169 and 172 for park. and 181 for pow.

i ride 176. im 5'10. they go just above my head. i think its just preference.

yeah they are pretty short but it also depends on your skill level. I'm 5'10 and I ski on 177's but i've also been skiing for 17 years. If you are just starting out you should be alright, but you will probably want to upgrade in length after you progress a little bit

It is all preference, you should ski on what you think is the most fun. There are benefits and drawbacks for longer or shorter skis:

Benefits of Short Skis: Easier to spin, lighter weight, easier to swtich up on rails, easier to front flip haha

Drawbacks of Short Skis: SLOWER, less stable on landings, sinks into powder.

Benefits of Long Skis: Go faster, more stable at high speeds and landing jumps, powers through crud, floats on powder

Drawbacks of Longer skis: Harder to spin and switchup, heavier, tougher to control, tougher to flex if you're light or not strong enough

Personally I would way they're too short. I ski on 178's and I'm 5'11" they're about as tall as me. The best thing is to try out different sizes and decide what YOU like best.

nah dude you need to get like 1800's then you can land like 500 foot table tops.
