Telling parents you smoke green

im 14 and i finally decided to straight up tell my parents i smoke weed. they were chill with it and just kept telling me that if i ever got into trouble to call them. and they told me if i ever get laced shit and end up getting sick that i should tell them. fuck. anyone that smokes weed should tell their parents. you don't know how good it feels after you tell em.

hahahaha. I give you props for straight up telling them. But when they say there always there for you and you can call them its a croc of shit. They aren't gonna be so nice when they get a phone call from the police station saying they need to come down and get there son. And trust me, it happens to a lot of people.

their are ways to not get arrested in the first place. keep your shit out of site in a bag. if officer asks to search it, no i don't consent to any searches. then they'll take you to the station. then they'll call your parents or guardians and ask them for consent. you really think my parents would give a cop consent to find weed

its good that you told your parents and you can be open with them, but that DOES NOT make you invincible to cops. You still have to be careful, and don't walk around like you are.

if you talk to your parents a lot and are always honest with them, then i suppose it wouldnt hurt to tell them that you smoke. in your case, your parents probably smoked and are fine with it since they know it is a fun thing to do for most everyone.

in other cases, like mine. my parents have no idea, they hate people who do it, and are completely against it. so no, im not going to tell them that i smoke. even if i do do it pretty responsibly.

what the hell is with all these people? my dad made it very clear to me since i was 13 that if i smoked id be kicked out of the house. my little brother would never trust me again and id pretty much lose my family.  i dont see anything wrong with weed but still.....

no no man, seriously

lets say a cop pulls you over. you have nothing in plain sight, nothing at all that would give him reason to search your car. Then he thinks your giving him some attitude and assumes your some druggy and says "do you mind if i check around your car?'

all you say is "no sir, i do not consent to any searches" and he has no right to search your car and no right to bring you in...

haha. everyone'es parents don't want there kids to become the stoners at school but most parents know that almost everyone will encounter it at least once. my parents are chill with it but if i got busted by the cops, i would probably be locked up in my basement for a month before i could go out again.

not consenting to a search, is not grounds for probable cause (which they need to search your bag). so if they do search you illegally, hopefully in court this will be presented and your charges will be dropped, even though you did infact posess weed.

evidence obtained illegally is not admissable in court. thats the rule on paper at least.

and why would they take you to the station, if they didnt find anything on you because you did not consent to a search? they cant take you to the station for denying a search alone.

Actually most cops respect people who know and understand what their rights are... say you're driving your car, you get pulled over, the officer asks for you to step out of the vehicle so he can search your car.  What should you do? Well, you should step out of the car, shut your car door, lock it, and simply tell the officer that you do not consent to a search of your car.  Do not say anything that will be incriminating, just make in known that you know your rights.  Okay so know what happens?  The cop will probably be like "You're making it worse on yourself by not letting me search your car."... bullshit the cop isn't going to give you the "You're a pushover discount" on your possession charges.  He might now say "Do I need to have a K-9 unit come out?".  At this point you should be using your right to not say a god damn thing. Answer his question with a question... "Officer may I leave yet?".  At this point it is going to be a hell of a lot more work for him to get a K-9 unit to come to your location to maybe find a little bit of marijuana.  He'll probably give you your speeding ticket and you'll be on your way.  And even if the K-9 unit does show up and they do find shit... well that sucks, but he would have probably found it in the first place if you had just consented to a search.  It's better to take your chances and know what your rights are then to just be a pushover and let the cops do whatever the hell they want.

That's my lesson for today.

they get back in their car and leave... they can't bring you in or anything... warrents don't come out of vending machines, you have to have a judge sign it. Its a big deal and they have no way of stopping you from going home and hidding your shit inbetween getting pulled over and them getting a warrent

I was first caught on christmas of 2005. I was 15. Knew something was up when all my christmas money went missing....my mom took all my weed and cash and confronted me. Of course I lied and said it was a friends...she didn't believe that. Then I lied, again, and told her that I did it only a few times and didn't like it. She understood, gave me the cash back, and told me to never do it again. From then on, I would smoke daily, but I would be sketched out every time I was home. I was careful, but she caught be another 3 or 4 times. The second time she was really pissed, the third she was upset, and the fourth she actually gave me my weed back.

Senior year of HS rolled around and stopped giving a fuck about what my parents think. I was never a bad kid growing up, stayed out of trouble, I just liked to smoke weed. I never (knock on wood) really got in trouble for it anyway,

Then I turned 18 and REALLY stopped giving a fuck. Last summer when I was home on break I would smoke in my room every day. I also taught my dad how to roll a blunt.

YOu can get a warrent from the sargent.  it just has to be able to hold up in court (he acted like he was hiding something) might be able to convince the jury

Unreasonable search and seizure. They don't have probable cause or a warrant, so if the search you any evidence they obtain is illegal and can't be used in court.

na dude cops cant search you if they dont have a warrent and i dont think to many cops want to do all the shit to get a warrent just to look through your shit if it was your house that would be different. and anyways i use that line alot when cops stop me and i usually will have something on me. basically your just being real ignorant
