Friday Night Fights!!

Anychance we can get them back this year, some of my best times at pns was 2 years ago doing that on fridays, they were so fun each week on a new rail 5-10bucks entry! lets get em back if possible!!!

The reason we didn't do them this year is because they are a pain to organize and hard to get people to actually participate. No clue about this year, but I can run it by Tad and see what he thinks.

Everybody always wants some sort of mini comp it seems.

But when we actually got out there and tried to get people to set up it always went down like this.

"I didnt know there was a comp today, I dont have money"

"I need to use my money for food"

kid "Who has entered"
us " Laker, Busken, Gep, Schwab, etc"
kid "Oh I dont have the money"

kid "What feature is it on?"
us "The double kink"
kid "I dont have enough tricks on that feature"




People need to actually come, pay their 5 bucks or whatever it is, sack it up and compete. Its not about wining or losing its about having FUN, and feeding off each others energy to learn new tricks. I like to think Perfects is a family, and we should all go out their and have fun together!

And not go to strip clubs on fridays nights. Its a busy night for them and they never end up being worth it!

Psh strip clubs are always worth it.

And competitions are a great way to learn new stuff. The vibe is always real good and people are always really stoked on what everyone else is doing. So if these do happen, you all need to step up and have some fun, it'll be worth it regardless if you win or lose.

nah it was just like super fun seshes where everybody hikes a feature and pushes eachother to do new stuff. it didnt work out bc some ppl were too competitive and didnt want to enter if they knew theyd lose

Sometimes it'd be ski pig, or rider judged or stuff like that. Real simple, mellow contests.

yeah I remember these two years ago, but I was at a school too far away to actually attend any of these.

I transferred so I could probably make them this year, but to be honest I dont think I would wanna pay money every week to get whopped on. I wouldnt mind losing to laker every week if I didnt have to pay for it!

 I would be down with giving them another go 'round, and the way it would probably work likely is that we would do it every week, it would only be $5 and i would really like to make it a "points series." Now that sounds more intimidating than i think it needs to be, but the goal is retention. I want this to be something that is just for fun, but hey if i go to all of them and get 20 points per contest i could win "X" at the end of the season. What "X" is i don't know, but you can imagine it would be like a $50 gift card at the end or something. Which would be good for food or lift tickets or loft shop.

I also have to figure out what the schedule would be, and yadda yadda, but i would like to see what kind of interest there is, so far it doesn't look bad.

what if you did them on saturday (no catchy name i know) but i believe you would get better attendance. because some people who are weekend warriors or come home from college etc. could participate

Sorry for not responding (shoulder surgery), but i wouldn def. enter every friday and so would my friends probly, since this was my 2nd eyar skiing i didnt get to see much of then so i didnt know the reason for discontinuing them. but im down every friday im there so, prolly most

I think i may have miss-typed, i meant every OTHER friday/saturday. I sent out an email to all of our reps so see if any had an interest in sponsoring the events to make them the "Bi-Weekley Oakely Smackdown" or some such thing, enter company name there, and then we might be able to offer a cool little prize every other week. Sunglasses, gloves, goggles, whatever. So we'll see if i get a response from them. And if you guys can come up wth a great name, i'm open to suggestions. Granted the sponsor would make a difference.
