im pretty sure theyre the epuivelent of last years watch lifes.  they just changed the name.  idk if the ski is any different, but you could probably get some ideas of what to expect from last years reviews.

The Nine Life is actually a brand new ski for us this year. It's a park specific ski and NOT the Watch Life mold.

All of the info is on the SURFACE SITE for the Nine Life.

Speaking of the Watch Life, we have also developed an entirely new shape for 09/10 - the construction is higher quality, the flex is a bit stiffer and the waist width is 100mm

So both of those skis are brand new shapes and construction for 09/10

the watch life is still there, so it's not just a new name, it a whole new ski, and it looks hella sick.

oops, my bad surface!
Is the nine life the ski that is the same shape as WL last year?  I thought I saw one that was(green life?) so is it the same dims. with new materials for a different flex?

Also my LL2s stare at me every night while I sleep..I think it makes it feel longer till winter.

We are not using the 08/09 Watch Life mold any longer.

The Nine Life is much smaller, more park specific.

For this coming season, the NEW Watch Life will share the same mold as the Green Life.

Does that make sense?

on the surface website it says it has early rise, which would be sweet, anyone have any more info? how much or an early rise, where it starts.  or anything else about the ski?  i havent heard much about them but they seem like they could be really good.

I just bought a pair of 182's.
I'll be putting a pair of FKX Pro's on them. (FKS 185's)
I'll post some pictures and a review after a few days on them.

So I got my Nine Life's. Pretty stoked on them already and they're not even mounted yet. Here are sort of my first impressions on them. I'll post something else after I ski them a couple days.

1. They're fucking stiff. Stiffer than any park ski I've ever flexed. I'm hoping that this a good thing because I'm counting on a ton of pop. Also, they're insanely light. They'll be a killer setup with my FKX turnables. Here a a picture of me flexing them:

2. They do have a little bit of rocker or "early rise". Whatever you choose to call it I'm sure it will make butters a hell of a lot easier and hopefully counter the stiffness. Also they have a decent amount of camber. Rocker picture:

3. Also, I think that both the topsheet and the bases look money, but that's just an opinion.

how long are they? like do you have any other 181 cm skis to compare them to? orr how tall are you and how high do they come up if you don't

sorry man, i dont have them. i just commented on how sick they look. at the moment im trying to get a warranty for my armada ar6s worked out that have been skied 15 days and have 2 edge pullouts already haha

mind giving a little review? how soft/stiff compaired to other skis? easy to butter? lots of pop? do you notice the rocker?

Length:172. My height: 5'6" Weight:135
Pros:
Stiffness: Perfect blend of stiffness, i'd compare them to a Chronic in stiffness so probably a 7.5/10 on a stiffness scale, really nice dimensions, still flex if you put your weight into them which is nice because they don't wash out on jumps, easy to control.

Buttering: early rise to help on butters definatly makes a difference. i never really buttered before i got these and it really makes a difference when you put your weight into them and go for it and they are stiff so you can really get a good pop out of them also.

Length: in a 172 they are about an inch longer then my 171 dumonts, so they are just overhead

Cons:
edge durability isn't as good as i would have hoped but i'm sure if any major problems come up Surface will fully back up their product so i'm not even worried about it at this point

i'm 5'11" 150. i like shorter skis but i can't decide between 182/ 172. any input? does the early rise make the ski, ski shorter?

Ya early rise will make it feel a bit shorter, go with the 182. Plus if they are centre mounted they will feel shorter.

i'd say get the 172. 2 reasons. you like shorter skis, and you dont weight that much. i'm 5'11 and i weigh 200lbs, i like long skis too, but due to my weight i'd get some 182's.

i was told that they would not be too good as a park ski because of the thickness?? more of just a pipe ski. anyone who has used them let me know what you think of them for riding. i am 5' 5'' looking to get the 162. good size?

Seriously  these things are insane, you'll pretty much nollie onto everything after buying surface skis. which will make you a much steezier skier!
