From the Bay to Hood. Anyone want to join?

I have been planning on going up to hood all summer, but my trip has been postponed because my friend who I was going to go with wasn't able to. I was going to go up with a bunch of people but it seems like they are not able to anymore. If anyone from somewhere around the bay area or between here and hood wants to join, hit me up. I am aching to do a little skiing. I have a mini van so I can fit a bunch of people. Sorry for the short notice, haha, but if possible I would leave tomorrow. If you can't go until monday or something that's cool to.

I know there are other people out there who want to go, but may not have a car or whatever. Well this is your chance. There are a bunch of people chillen up at hood so it will definitely be a good time.

i'm gonna recommend you don't do it.

it's pretty damn late in the season, i doubt it's worth the drive for you guys.

Have you been up to Hood recently? Sounds like the public park is still allright. It would definitely be a good time. Skiing or not skiing? skiing sounds good to me.

its a lot of fun still but it is getting pretty bad. public park has 1 small jump and a few rail features. the pipe is pretty sick though. you should go ASAP if you want to get anything decent.

i havent been there recently, i went about 3 weeks ago, it was ok.
we didnt get the snow this year that we did last year, it's been pretty dirty since the start of summer.

unfortunately, august isnt really the best time to be up there. and like he said up there, the public park doesnt have a ton of stuff.

they do cut a nice pipe though.

yeah I heard of ways to avoid paying that at least a couple times. Also was going to stop by windells and see whats up. Maybe dig if possible to ride the park.

Your going to be hiking public park if you ride it, you cannot lap it anymore (as of a few weeks ago).

If you plan on hiking up without buying a ticket BEWARE. Timberline has a dedicated Loss Prevention team that scopes out skiers that are trying to poach by hiking up. They have people at the bottom of the mountain that watch for people hiking and then they send this guy (Lorne I think might be his name?) up the lift and he hikes down to poachers and kicks them off the hill. I met him riding up the lift recently. Apparently they just give warnings the first time, only give trespassing tickets if you are caught a second time. (Not saying you can't hike up and poach, but there is a chance you'll get caught).

i agree. the public park isnt lapable anymo cause u gotta hike down to the lift.

i might go next week sometime, but only cause i live an hour away and am prolly gettin free tickets.

as of today it's a pipe, a 20ish foot jump, and 4-6 rails.  It's not much compared to what it was earlier.

Last year I came in the second week of august and they moved the park up to where High Cascade was.  I'm not sure if they are planning on doing that again, but if they are that's a good time to come.

Yes, public does get moved later in the season, where there is somewhat better snow. Still, for $52, it doesn't seem like that good of a deal. Most of the camps are winding down so good luck with digging. Try mhssc, they have a sweet park and they're good to their diggers.
