Eye contact?

hey when you listen to people is it okay to stare them in the eyes the whole time or is that creepy? and when you listen to people do you look at them in the face or do you look down at the ground?

yeah, you should look somebody in the face, in the eyes when they're talking. It shows you're listening and are interested in what they're saying. And it shows respect.

definately on job-interviews, exams and with hot girls, make above average eyecontact, for exams and interviews you show them you're not affraid of them and you stand strong in your shoes.
when playing the chiccas, its rather obvious.....

I was always intimidated by eye contact so I would look around just glancing at the person. Lately I've been working on eye contact and I feel more confident.

yeah its the worst when some one you dont really want to talk to comes up and tells you something really boring. you have to force yourself to look at them and it just gives me a head ache and i feel that when i look at them directly in the face for an extended period of time im just creeping them out. I guess my question is when you are talking with someone and they are staring at you does that creep you out?

I often stare at peoples mouths too, i reckon thats how i learnt to lipread, but recently ive been trying to look people in the eye, its better that way.

When im talking i look all over the place and never make eye contact. It makes me really uncomfortable to look someone in the eye and talk to them. I fail at life.

the more eye contact you make while talking shows your dominance. the more you make while someone else is talking, shows thier dominance over you. however if you stare all the time its creepy, either way.

looking away from someone when they are talking to you is a sign of weakness.  ALWAYS make eye contact the entire time until the other person looks away.  unless you aren't the dominant type.  (on the same note apologizing is also a sign of weakness.  never apologize {in a professional setting} just correct the mistake.)

thanks for all the feed back. I have accepted my place in the world as weak coward who cant look people in the eyes..,. super lame i know............. well i guess when people are talking with you are supposed to look at them the whole time. I wonder how to do it when you are sitting next to them on a bench though,

turn your body and stare at them, also, make sure you talk too that way its not just you doing all the staring. if needed have something else to do, pretend to check you phone or something, adjust your pants anything if you want to break a stare. get confidence

Put your hand on his/her lap, and look away, and pretend you don't notice you are doing it. Always makes for a funny/awkward moment. If it's a girl, she will probably get insta-turned on, and want to have intercourse with you.

look them in the eye, its the polite thing to do. if that just seems weird then you can always look between their eyes, like at the top of the nose
