idk if many people know about this, buuuut, in like 10 days i'm gonna go to portillo to ski (fuck yes) and i'm staying in the inca lodge. i know it's the ghetto hostel but w/e, it's cheap. what i'm wondering is how safe it is in terms of valuables. i REALLY wanna bring my camera to get ski shots and landscapes and shit. i would bring just a 40D and a 24-105, but that's big bucks worth of equipment right there. now i would take this skiing some days but not every day. just in terms of night time i'd probably keep it in a backpack and take the pack around with me so it would be during the day i'd be worried about
so, is it really open and could people easily steal shit? are there places to hide things like that so someone wouldn't just spot the camera and grab it? it will always be in a toploader case but someone could still identify it was a camera and grab it. lastly, am i just being paranoid? my cousin will be in the room with me, so that would leave 2 beds for creeper cleptos but they might be his friends, idk if they're coming yet
so anyone whose stayed there let me know, i really wanna bring it but i really don't want it to get stolen by some goddam sketchy brazilian on vacation to portillo
one last question, how's the food in the cafeteria you eat in as a compliment to staying in the inca :) ?
thanks
