B/S/T needs more rules!

Completely unnecessary IMO. Why put rules to an open forum where people are trading and selling their products? To me the b/s/t forum is like a garage sale or flea market. People just selling random ski or other stuff to get some money.

So why make a rule that their has to be a set price on things? Sometimes people don't know how much their product is worth and want to get a feel of the market before they set a price, which could potentially be too low.

Don't put rules where rules don't belong. It makes things too complicated.

i didn't think NS had any regulatory control of BST and NS was just used as a medium of giving people a place to buy, sell, or trade.

You could ask people to do this if you wanted but getting NS directly involved in regulating any aspect of BST not worth a single manhour of NS payroll or the drama it would create.

We don't control the B/S/T forums

It is really up to the members to post in a way which gives enough info for buyers to make informed decisions.
It is more helpful when people set a price, but then again if you don't set a price then the chances of selling something are dramatically reduced..So at the end of the day it is in everyone's interests to provide as much info as possible.

We/NS aren't here to regulate that though. What we can do is provide a set of guidelines to stay close to in order to maximise the likelihood of a successful sale/purchase, and that's been done.. Anything outside of that is beyond the scope of what we do

I like to think that a huge majority of sale threads have prices listed, and if they don't then the seller will often provide a guide.

i just thought of the coolest thing! what if there were notifications when something new is up. whenever you make a bst thread you have to write tags, and you can subscribe to tags so lets say someone is selling crowbars youll be notified right away.

that really doesn't bug me. what does bug me is when there's 10 threads on the first page saying WTB: Saga XL. or WTB: Salomon G suit. i mean don't people realize that, 1) there's already a ton of threads asking that. 2) No one's gonna sell, i mean there's no point if someone really wants to sell they'll post a thread..

Totally agree, im super tired of WTB threads. Its buy/sell/trade because you either buy from someone or trade with them, or sell your own stuff in your own thread. If someone really wants to sell their Jiberish they are going to make a thread for it, we dont need a ton of threads begging people to sell. At least put WTB threads in a separate forum just for that, but then again would there be any traffic in a forum of just WTB threads? I would think very little to none, which in my mind proves the point they just clutter things up. Does that make sense or am i just ranting?

totaly makes sense. i don't see how people make MULTIPAL of their own threads, asking for things that they obviously know no one's selling. it just clutters up the section, about half the threads in b/s/t are WTB's.
