I believe you are wrong, it was surface that had a gene simmon face on it and he wanted to sue them. Those skis look awesome dayum what are they?

whats wierd is that the one picture that is similar to a kiss member is the one of paul stanley, yet gene simmons brought suit?  What? Is he the keeper of all things Kiss?

gotcha.   I do remember that KISS was someone involved in the demise of the release of these skis.

Axl Rose is definitly another likeness on the ski.

LINE Anthems 179cm - never mounted.  The word I have so far is that only 30 of these were released.  This set ended up in a silent auction for charity and bought by someone who wanted to learn to ski, but ended up moving to florida.

Answered my own question...  what fuckin noob.  I googled and it took me right back to here.  newschoolers.com   hahahahaha   could someone delte this thread please?


It was the fall of 2006, Line's website was launching, ski magazines were out and J-Lev & co. were about to ship shops what they were calling 'the most progressive park ski of the time.' It was a new model called the Anthem with a 93mm waist, Butter Zones, 100% symmetric, center mounted jib ski designed to slay the park. The graphics were as unique as its design. It was a collage of rock and roll musicians with the best base graphics ever conceived, zebra stripes. It was all hand drawn by Line's in-house artist of the time, Tim Clayton. Skiing and rock and roll! What's not to like? Even Maxim magazine called Line to feature the ski in their gear section. It was then that the Anthem’s luck turned for the worst. Not long after Maxim hit the stands Line received a call from someone accusing them of using their image in the graphics. Being the small brand Line is, they weren’t about to go to court over it, so as many of you know, the ski never made it to the market.

nah man. theyre anthems

theyre from the 06-07 season. like papasteeze wrote, line was all excited to finally ship them and whatever, but gene simmons (from kiss) sued line because of the resemblance. that ski didn't ship that year...

youre thinking of what happened at sia, with faction skis, not surface.

there have been two instances with kiss and ski companies, not just one.
